Letters to My Friend š¤
Day 24: I Hope You Fail
Dear Friend,
I hope you fail sometimes. Yes, you read that correctly. š
I hope you apply for something and don't get it. I hope you try something new and discover you're not immediately good at it. I hope you make mistakes that teach you lessons perfection never could.
Because we've become so afraid of failure that we treat every mistake like a verdict on our worth.
One bad grade. One failed relationship. One business idea that didn't work. One opportunity that slipped away.
And suddenly, we whisper, "Maybe I'm not enough."
But, dear friend, you can fail at something without becoming a failure.
Peter failed. David failed. Moses made mistakes. Yet, God still used their stories for His glory.
"For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again..." ā Proverbs 24:16 (KJV)
The miracle isn't that you never fall. It's that, by God's grace, you can rise again.
So, if you fail, learn. If you fall, get up. If you get rejected, grieve, but don't build your identity around the rejection.
Apologise when necessary. Make things right where you can. Grow, and when the time is right, try again.
Perhaps the most dangerous thing isn't failure itself. Perhaps it's becoming so afraid of failing that you never dare to try.
So yes, dear friend, I hope you fail sometimes.
Not because I want you broken, but because I hope you discover that failure cannot take away your worth.
You are still loved. You are still valuable. You are still becoming.
And above all, God is still writing your story. Your mistakes may be part of your journey, but they don't have to be the end of it.
Take a breath. Learn the lesson. Give yourself room to grow.
You haven't lost your entire future because one thing didn't work out.
Keep going, dear friend. There's still more to your story. š¤
Reflection šæ
What failure are you still using as evidence that you're not enough?
What if it was never meant to be your identity, but simply a chapter in your story?
