THE END
Every story has a final page,
Every journey has a place to rest,
Every storm must lose its thunder,
And every trial must give its best.
The end is not always sorrow,
Nor is it a door slammed shut;
Sometimes it is a quiet beginning,
A seed beneath the dust.
The end of tears may bring laughter,
The end of pain may bring peace,
The end of a difficult season
May be where your dreams increase.
There are endings we never wanted,
Goodbyes we wished could stay,
Moments we held so tightly
That time slowly took away.
But life keeps moving forward,
Though our hearts may ask it not to;
The hands of time keep turning,
Carrying us where we ought to.
A friendship may reach its ending,
A chapter may close its door,
A dream may change its direction,
Yet life can offer something more.
Do not fear the word “ending,”
For endings can make us strong;
They teach us to value the moments
We once thought would last lifelong.
When the final curtain lowers
And the lights begin to fade,
Remember all the beautiful moments,
All the memories that were made.
For nothing truly disappears
When it has shaped your heart;
The lessons remain within you
Long after people depart.
So when you reach the ending,
Do not look back with regret.
Carry the lessons, cherish the memories,
And believe there is more ahead yet.
For sometimes what we call “the end”
Is simply a different way to say:
“This chapter is finished now—
Turn the page and begin a new day.”
