Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm,
I wear my hijab for the sake of Him, Not for the praise of people, Nor for the eyes that pass me by, But for Allah, the One who hears every sigh. It is more than cloth upon my head, It is a reminder of the path I tread, A symbol of ḥayā’, modesty and grace, A quiet act of worship in a busy place.
Allah says in the Qur’an, “...draw their headcovers over their chests,” A command from the One who knows what is best. And the Prophet ﷺ taught that ḥayā’ is part of īmān, So modesty becomes a light that guides us on.
From the khimār that covers with care, To the jilbāb worn with modesty there, From the simple shawl to the hijab we style, Different are the fabrics, the colours, the style— But beneath every covering, let the heart remain sincere, Remembering Allah, with taqwā near.
Hijab does not mean I am perfect or wise, It does not make me better in Allah’s eyes; I am still a servant who stumbles and prays, Who seeks tawbah and returns to Allah’s ways. So let my hijab remind me each day To lower my gaze and watch what I say, To carry adab, kindness and light, And choose what is pleasing to Allah, day and night.
If people ask, “Why do you cover your hair?” I will simply say, “Because Allah is there.” When trends disappear and opinions depart, Allah’s command will remain in my heart. So let my veil be a sign of iman, A step toward Allah, my Rabb, my Amān. And may every Muslimah, wherever she may be, Find strength in her faith and walk humbly.
Ya Allah, make my hijab sincere and true, Increase my īmān in all that I d Give me sabr, and a heart full of light, Keep me upon Your path, steadfast and right. For beauty fades and the world moves on, But deeds for Allah can carry us beyond. So I wear my hijab with love, not fear, A little piece of worship that keeps You near.
Alhamdulliah for the gift of din, For every modest step and every unseen deed. May Allah guide our hearts and make them bright, And keep us firm upon sirat al-mustaqim day and night. Āmīn, yā Rabb al-‘Ālamīn. 🤍🌙
