The Midnight Watches

The Midnight Watches

When midnight folds the world in silence,

And every busy street grows still,

The moon appears like a quiet witness,

Watching the earth from beyond the hill.

At midnight, thoughts begin to wander,

Through doors that daylight keeps concealed;

Memories rise like distant echoes,

And wounds we hide are slowly revealed.

The midnight watches over the lonely,

Those whose hearts refuse to sleep,

Those who carry unspoken questions,

And promises they could not keep.

It watches fathers lost in thinking,

Mothers praying through the night,

Young hearts searching for direction,

Hoping morning will bring light.

The midnight knows the silent battles,

The dreams that tremble in the dark,

The whispered prayers of tired souls,

And every small, persistent spark.

It sees the tears that no one notices,

The courage hidden behind a smile,

The weary feet that keep on moving,

Though the journey stretches mile by mile.

But midnight is not forever;

Darkness cannot claim the dawn.

Beyond the silence waits a morning,

And with the morning, hope lives on.

So when the midnight watches over you,

And sleep refuses to draw near,

Remember that the darkest moments

Do not mean that light has disappeared.

Keep faith within your weary spirit,

Let patience guard your heart tonight;

For every midnight has its ending,

And every darkness yields to light.

When morning finally breaks the silence,

You may discover, strong and new,

That the night which seemed to test you

Was also preparing you for what is true.

So let the midnight watch in silence,

While you gather strength to rise;

For dawn is waiting just beyond it,

With a promise written in the skies.
