The Tears Nobody Ever Saw 🥀
I learned to smile when my heart felt weak,
To hide a thousand words I couldn’t speak.
I laughed with people, pretending I was fine,
While carrying a sadness I kept locked inside.
Nobody noticed the silence in my eyes,
Or saw the little girl behind my disguise.
They heard my laughter and believed my lies,
Never asking what happened on those lonely nights.
I wanted someone to notice the change,
To see that my world no longer felt the same.
Someone who would ask, “Are you really okay?”
And stay long enough to hear what I’d say.
But people get busy, and promises fade,
Like beautiful memories slowly losing their shade.
Some say they’ll stay, then quietly depart,
Leaving their fingerprints all over your heart.
I gave people pieces they never deserved,
Offered them kindness when I needed it first.
I listened to stories, I comforted pain,
But when I needed someone, the silence remained.
Perhaps that’s the price of a heart that feels deep,
Giving away comfort while forgetting to keep
A little compassion for its own wounded soul,
A little reminder that it’s worthy and whole.
Sometimes I wonder if anyone knows
How much can be hidden behind a smile that glows.
How many times can a heart pretend,
That it doesn’t hurt when another bond ends?
I miss the people I can never reach,
The words left unspoken, the things left to teach.
I miss who I was before I learned to hide,
Before I built walls and locked feelings inside.
Yet somewhere beneath all this sorrow and pain,
A little hope whispers I’ll smile again.
Perhaps not today, perhaps not tomorrow,
But one day I’ll breathe without carrying sorrow.
I’ll learn that my worth isn’t measured by who
Decides to remember me or see me through.
I’ll stop chasing people who choose to depart,
And start giving kindness to my own heart.
For even the moon has its nights without light,
Yet it never forgets how to shine through the night.
And even a flower, once broken by rain,
Can rise from the earth and bloom once again.
So if you see me smiling, don’t assume that I’m fine,
But don’t think my sadness defines all of mine.
I’m more than the tears that nobody saw,
More than the moments when life felt unfair.
One day, these wounds will become distant memories,
And I’ll tell my story without trembling knees.
I’ll look at the past and finally see
That the girl who felt broken was becoming free.
And if nobody stays when the darkness appears,
I’ll hold my own hand through the difficult years.
Because I’ve finally learned, though it took me so long,
That a heart can feel broken and still become strong.
So let the world misunderstand my silence,
Let it mistake my kindness for weakness.
I know the battles I’ve fought in the dark,
And I know there’s still fire inside my heart.
For the tears nobody ever saw
Were never proof that I was weak.
They were chapters of a story
That I was still learning how to speak. 🥀🖤
The meaning: Sometimes, the people who comfort everyone else are the ones who secretly need comfort themselves. But your sadness doesn’t have to define your future, and being left behind doesn’t mean you’re unworthy of love.
