Chapter One: The Seven Kings of Hell 🖤🔥🐦⬛
At midnight, the church bells rang thirteen times.
Nobody in Blackthorn City knew why.
The streets emptied. Doors were locked. Curtains were drawn. Even the stray dogs disappeared before the final bell echoed through the darkness.
Everyone knew the thirteenth bell meant one thing.
Something had escaped from Hell.
But nobody knew that the creature had already found a human body to inhabit.
In an abandoned mansion at the edge of the city, a young woman stood before a cracked mirror. Her name was Raven Blackwood, the last surviving member of an ancient family of exorcists.
Her black eyes reflected a strange crimson light.
Something inside her whispered.
Let me out.
Raven smiled coldly.
“Not tonight.”
The mirror shattered.
A shadow crawled across the ceiling, twisting into a monstrous shape before plunging into her chest. The force threw her against the wall, but she stood again as if nothing had happened.
Her fingers trembled.
For three seconds, another voice escaped her mouth.
“YOU CANNOT COMMAND ME!”
Raven tilted her head.
“You’re right,” she replied. “I don’t command demons.”
She raised her hand, revealing a glowing black symbol carved into her palm.
“I destroy them.”
The entire mansion shook.
The creature inside her screamed. Windows exploded outward, and black smoke poured from the walls. Yet Raven remained perfectly still.
She had been born with a forbidden gift: the ability to enter the spiritual realm, confront the evil spirits that possessed human beings, and drag them back to the place from which they came.
But her power had a terrible origin.
Twenty years earlier, her mother had made a bargain with the ruler of Hell to save her unborn child. In exchange, Raven inherited the authority of the seven ancient demon kings.
Every spirit feared her.
Every exorcist wanted her power.
And Hell itself wanted its gift returned.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the mansion door.
Three times.
Raven turned.
A little boy stood outside, barefoot and trembling. His mother waited behind him, her face pale, her eyes completely black.
“Please,” the woman whispered. “Something is inside me.”
Raven studied her for a moment.
Then she noticed the black veins spreading beneath the woman’s skin.
It wasn’t an ordinary spirit.
It was a collector—a creature sent from Hell to retrieve stolen souls.
The woman suddenly lunged forward, her mouth opening wider than any human jaw should allow.
“THE KING WANTS HIS DAUGHTER BACK!”
Raven caught her by the throat before she could reach the boy.
The ground cracked beneath their feet.
“You came into my city,” Raven said quietly. “You threatened an innocent child.”
Her eyes turned crimson.
“And you made one mistake.”
The demon struggled against her grip.
Raven leaned closer.
“You thought I was human enough to fear you.”
A circle of black fire erupted beneath them. The demon’s shadow separated from the woman’s body, twisting and shrieking as Raven dragged it toward a dark opening in the floor.
The woman’s eyes returned to normal.
The boy rushed into his mother’s arms.
But before the portal closed, a voice emerged from its depths.
“Enjoy your little victories, Raven Blackwood.”
She froze.
The voice belonged to the King of Hell.
“You have until the next blood moon to return what belongs to me.”
The portal vanished.
For the first time in years, Raven’s smile disappeared.
Because the King of Hell wasn’t talking about her power.
He was talking about the thing sleeping inside her soul.
And whatever it was, even the demons were afraid to wake it.
Raven looked toward the moonlit window.
“Let them come,” she whispered.
She picked up her black coat and walked into the night.
“Every demon has a weakness.”
Her eyes flashed crimson one last time.
“And every king can fall.” 🖤🔥
