LETTERS TO MY FRIENDS

002: It's Okay Not to Have It All Figured Out
Dear Friend,
Can I remind you of something today?
You don't have to have your whole life figured out.
I know it doesn't always feel that way.
You look around and it seems everyone else has a plan.
Someone just landed a new job. Another got admitted into their dream school.
Someone is getting married. Someone started a business. Someone is celebrating a breakthrough.
Someone just got a scholarship.
Someone just bagged that degree.
Someone just got the contract.
And then there's you...
Wondering if you're behind.
Wondering what went wrong.
Wondering if you are not doing something right.
Wondering if you're missing something.
Wondering when your own story will begin to make sense.
I've learned that comparison has a way of making us question God's timing. We start measuring our journey with someone else's ruler, forgetting that the God who writes stories never copies chapters. He has an entirely different page and chapter for everyone
The truth is, not knowing everything doesn't mean you're going nowhere.
It doesn't mean God doesn't have something in store for you.
All you have to do is to trust and have faith in him.
Sometimes, God doesn't show us the entire staircase because He wants us to trust Him with the next step.
The Bible says,
ยซ"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." โ Proverbs 3:5โ6 (KJV)ยป
Notice the promise.
God didn't say you'd understand everything.
He didn't say, you'll have everything figured out.
He said "trust him and lean not on your own understanding".
You don't have to lean on your own human knowledge.
Put your life in his hands, trust him with that little thing. Acknowledge him even in the littlest detail of your life, things you feel it doesn't matter.
He says,"acknowledge him in all thy ways".
He promised to direct your path.
Dear friend, if today feels uncertain, don't mistake uncertainty for abandonment. God is still leading, even when you cannot yet see where the road ends.
Your waiting is not wasted.
Your process is not punishment.
And your story is far from over.
So breathe.
Exhale.
Keep learning.
Keep praying.
Keep taking the next faithful step.
God has never lost His way, and He certainly won't lose yours.
REFLECTION โจ ๐ฟ
Have you been trusting God's timing, or measuring your life against someone else's journey?
PRAYER ๐ ๐ค
Father, when I become anxious about my future, remind me that my life is safely held in Your hands. Teach me to trust Your timing, even when I don't understand Your process. Help me to walk by faith and not by sight. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Until the next letter... ๐
With hope always,
Your Friend. ๐ค
