The Goat Who Wanted an Education Every Monday morning, the students of Bright Future Secondary School dragged themselves into class with sleepy faces and unfinished homework. But one Monday was different. As the school bell rang, a white goat calmly walked through the school gate as if it had paid school fees. The security guard looked up from his chair and shouted, "Hey! Where do you think you're going?" The goat looked at him, gave a loud "Meeeeh!" and continued walking. The students burst into laughter. Instead of running around the compound like a normal goat, it marched straight into Class SS1 and sat beside the last row of desks. Everyone was too shocked to say a word. When the mathematics teacher entered, he froze. "Whose goat is this?" he asked. Nobody answered. The goat looked at the teacher with the most innocent face anyone had ever seen. The teacher sighed and said, "Fine. If it wants to learn mathematics, let it stay." The lesson continued. Whenever the teacher asked a difficult question, the entire class kept quiet. The goat would immediately shout, "Meeeeh!" The teacher nodded and said, "At least someone is attempting an answer." The whole class exploded with laughter. During break time, the goat became the most popular student in the school. Some students shared biscuits with it, while others tried taking selfies. One student even whispered, "I think this goat is smarter than James. At least it comes to school every day." Unfortunately for James, he was standing behind them and heard everything. The next day, the goat returned. Then the next day. And the day after that. Soon, everyone accepted it as an unofficial student. One Friday, the principal decided enough was enough. He called an emergency assembly. "My dear students," he announced, "this school cannot officially admit a goat." Just then, the goat walked to the front of the assembly. Everyone became silent. The principal pointed at it and said, "Tell us why you keep coming here." The goat responded with one long, dramatic "MEEEEEEH!" The students clapped loudly. One teacher laughed and translated, "Sir, I think it said it prefers school to being turned into pepper soup." Even the principal couldn't hold back his laughter. After thinking for a moment, he smiled and declared, "Very well. The goat may stay... but only if it continues to behave better than the students." The following Monday, the attendance register was read. "James?" "Present." "Sarah?" "Present." "The Goat?" "Meeeeh!" "Present." From that day on, the goat never missed a single class, never forgot homework, never fought with anyone, and never arrived late. At the end of the school year, the principal looked at the students and shook his head. "I don't know whether to congratulate all of you," he said, "or simply make the goat the Head Boy." The entire school laughed so hard that even the goat seemed proud of itself. And to this day, whenever someone complains about going to school, the teachers smile and say, "Be grateful... even a goat once fought for an education!"
