The Weight I Carry, and the Dreams I Still Hold
A poem about silent battles, resilience, and refusing to give up
There are battles I fight in silence,
The kind no one sees, no one hears.
I smile, I joke, I act so fine,
But inside, I’m carrying fears.
There are nights I lie awake,
Overthinking every little thing.
My mind is loud, my heart is tired,
Yet I still try to be the best version of me.
I’ve lost some people along the way,
And watched some dreams slip through my hands.
It hurt, but I’m learning to accept
That not everything is meant to stay.
But I’m still here, and that means something.
Even with the weight, I choose to rise.
Because I know I’m stronger than my struggles,
And my story isn’t over,it’s only paused.
And slowly building the life I once dreamed of.
So if you’re reading this and feeling lost,
Please remember you’re not alone.
The road may be difficult, but you’re not weak.
Keep going, even when it’s slow.
Your dreams are still valid.
Your efforts still matter.
And better days are still coming.
You’re carrying a lot,
but you’re also doing so well.
