Consistency Explained Using Davido, Burna Boy & Mr Funny
Consistency means continuing to show up, improve, and put in the work—even when the results are not immediate.
🎵 Davido: Davido didn't become one of Africa's biggest artists from one hit song. He kept releasing music, collaborating, performing, promoting himself, and staying relevant over many years. Consistency turned talent into a lasting career. Not minding that his father is a billionaire he didn't look at that but rather he stayed consistent to hustle for his own wealth, and that is what got him to where he is today.
🎤 Burna Boy: Burna Boy faced criticism and setbacks early in his career, but he continued developing his sound and putting out music. Eventually, the world began paying attention. Consistency helped him move from being a Port Harcourt Artist, to becoming a Nigerian artist and now to a global superstar.
😂 Mr Funny (Sabinus): Before becoming widely recognized, Sabinus consistently created comedy skits and posted content. He kept refining his character, delivery, and style. The repeated effort made people recognize and remember him.
The Lesson
Talent can introduce you, but consistency keeps you in the game.
You might post a video today and get 200 views.
Tomorrow, 500 views.
Next month, maybe 10,000 views.
The person who stops because the first few videos didn't perform may never discover what could have happened.
Think of it like this:
Davido kept making music.
Burna Boy kept making music.
Sabinus kept making skits.
You have to keep creating too.
Don't focus only on going viral. Focus on showing up repeatedly and getting better every time.
Then look at Broda Shaggi. He found a unique comedy character and consistently created content around it. The more he showed up, the more people recognized his face, character, and brand.
And Nasboi shows another side of consistency. He kept creating and experimenting, moving between comedy, content creation, and music. Consistency doesn't always mean doing the exact same thing; it can also mean consistently developing yourself.
THE LESSON
You might create 10 videos and nobody notices.
Create 20 more.
You might release a song and it gets 200 streams.
Keep creating.
Your first business idea might fail.
Learn, improve, and try again.
Because the people you admire today didn't necessarily become successful because everything they did worked.
They kept going when some things didn't work.
Using myself as an example, I've been posting for about 2 years plus every month, sometimes 4-5 times a week, sometimes I get tired and don't post for a month...but regardless I keep posting but my views don't or have t gotten up to 5k views, but does that mean I haven't gotten side gigs or UGC contents..No! And that's because I decided not to focus or let my views and likes be my judge or my motivation.but showing up daily weekly, monthly is what I build on.
Davido kept creating.
Burna Boy kept creating.
Broda Shaggi kept creating.
Mr Funny kept creating.
Nasboi kept creating.
And I will keep working.
That's consistency.
Don't let poor results make you stop. Let them make you better.
Consistency + Improvement + Time = Growth.
You don't have to be the best today.
Just make sure you're better than you were yesterday.
