In this world we live in, everything is constantly changing. Relationships can change, circumstances can change, people change and even ideas about our lives can change for the worse. A person who says that they will always be there today may not be there tomorrow. Friends can turn into enemies, people we trust can let us down and those we rely on can sometimes disappear when we need them most.
Yet, in the midst of all these changes, there is One who does not change, our God.
God was and is always the same! Our circumstances have nothing to do with his character. If life is good, She is God. When life is hard, He is still God! Where we are celebrated He is there. When we are rejected, He is still there. There are no circumstances where you don't have to acknowledge his presence.
We can make a promise and not follow through, but God's promises are always true. We can be easily forgotten, but not forgotten by God. Others may lose faith in us, but God never loses faith in us. Sometimes people judge us by our past, but God looks at what He can make out of our future.
The evolution and transformation of mankind shouldn't cause us to lose confidence in God. Rather, it should remind us where we must place our confidence: in God. When our whole trust is in men, we are liable to failure. But if our hope is in God, then there is nothing that can ever take it from us.
At times there might be times when one prays and nothing happens. You might ask yourself, "Has God heard me? You can ask yourself, “What is going on in my life? I feel like it is falling apart.” During these times, keep in mind that silence is not no-ness. God may be doing things that you cannot see at the moment.
A seed buried in the dirt may look like it is no longer in sight, but under the soil, something is happening. Similarly, God can be doing something in your life that you don't see the results of right now.
Don't let temporary things make you question an everlasting God. Things could change on the morrow. Your tears might be transformed into laughter. Your power struggle could turn into a testimony.
God never changes, nor does your situation. Your problem isn't bigger than him! He doesn't leave you because you have wronged him.
So, when people change, remain faithful. If friends go away, trust God. If the opportunities are taken away, believe. At times when things turn sour, cling to your faith.
Keep in mind: Things may change, people may change, circumstances may change, but God does not change.
His love over us remains.
His mercy over us remains.
His promises over us remains.
His faithfulness over us remains.
So, have no fear of a world in flux. Put your trust in the unchanging God. People may change their minds about everything, but what He has decided to do for you will not be altered. Move on, believe, pray, and trust!
This world may turn upside down, but the God that holds you will not turn around.
