Dear God,
Sometimes I wonder
if I'm doing enough.
If the prayers I whisper
are reaching beyond the ceiling,
if the little steps I take
are leading me somewhere,
if the person I am today
is becoming the person
You have called me to be.
There are thresholds I have yet to cross,
parts of me still waiting to grow,
a spiritual depth I long to reach,
and so much about this walk with You
I am still learning to know.
Sometimes, I try so hard
and still feel like I'm falling short.
Like there is more I should be doing,
more I should have become,
more of You I should know.
And yet,
I have hope.
Not because I have everything figured out,
not because the road is always clear,
but because Your Word reminds me
that You are working things together
for good.
Romans 8:28.
And somehow,
that is enough to keep me going.
So, God,
when I am tempted to measure my growth
by how far I think I should be,
remind me to look at how far
You have brought me.
When I feel behind,
teach me patience.
When I feel inadequate,
teach me to depend on You.
When my heart grows weary
from trying to become,
remind me that I am still growing.
I don't want to spend my whole life
chasing things that don't matter
and forget the One
who gave my life meaning.
I don't just want to be successful.
I want to be faithful.
I don't just want to be known by people.
I want my life to reflect You.
I don't just want to speak about You.
I want my life to say something about You
even when my mouth is silent.
And God, I hope that one day,
when I look back at all the years,
the prayers, the waiting,
the victories and the tears,
I will see a life
that brought You joy.
A life that did not know everything
but kept learning.
A heart that did not always feel strong
but kept trusting.
A person who stumbled sometimes
but kept returning to You.
Because beyond all the things
I hope to achieve,
beyond the dreams I carry
and the person I hope to become,
I hope my life will please You.
I hope that in the quiet places
where nobody sees,
in the decisions nobody applauds,
in the moments when obedience costs me something,
I will still choose You.
And when my time here is done,
I hope that the life I lived
will have made You proud.
Until then, Lord,
keep working on me.
I'm still praying.
I'm still learning.
I'm still becoming.
And by Your grace,
I'm not giving up. 🤍
