Dear Tomorrow
poem

Dear Tomorrow

Tomorrow,

I do not know your face,

yet I have whispered your name

more times than I can count.

If you can hear me,

wait for me—

I am coming,

not as someone who has everything figured out,

but as someone still learning

how to walk by faith.

Today,

I leave my worries behind.

The heavy questions,

the endless “what ifs,”

the quiet fears that steal my sleep—

I refuse to carry them

into another sunrise.

Instead,

I make room

for joy that is genuine

and peace that does not depend

on perfect circumstances.

I will not pretend

that I am fearless.

There are moments

when I wonder

what tomorrow holds,

when uncertainty knocks

gently at my heart.

But then I remember

a truth stronger than fear:

I may not know

what tomorrow holds,

but I know

the One who holds my tomorrow.

And that is enough.

So I surrender

every anxious thought

into God's faithful hands.

I release the need

to control every outcome

and choose to trust

the Author of my story.

Tomorrow,

I will meet you

with a prepared heart—

ready to learn,

ready to grow,

ready to begin again

if I must.

I will carry gratitude

instead of panic,

hope instead of doubt,

and faith instead of fear.

If the road is smooth,

I will praise.

If the road is difficult,

I will still keep walking.

Because every sunrise

is another invitation

to become wiser,

kinder,

stronger,

and closer to the woman

God is shaping me to be.

So, dear tomorrow,

I am not chasing you

with fear.

I am walking toward you

with faith,

knowing that grace

will arrive there

before I do.
