The Search for Self-Empowerment

Seeking power is another approach we use to try to foster a feeling of security in our lives. We think that if we gain authority, happiness and success will naturally follow.

Similar to security, power is nothing but a mirage. It is unable to keep us from suffering any unpleasant experiences. It cannot remove our ingrained sentiments of insecurity or insufficiency. It is impossible for us to achieve success because of it. Actually, having control over other people frequently turns into a burden.

it has its own load! Responsibilities and duties that accompany a position of authority are accompanied by the capacity to manage individuals and circumstances. We feel more out of control than before instead of feeling in control. We cannot control some events in our life or others, no matter how much we may desire to. Our own thoughts and deeds are all we can regulate. What most of us are truly looking for is a sense of empowerment. Control over our own thoughts, feelings, and activities rather than over others or over external conditions.

Although letting go of the illusion of power may seem terrifying, it may also be liberating in some ways. When we understand that we only HAVE to be in charge of ourselves, we figure out how to unwind and let go of what we can't control. In an attempt to feel in command, we learn to go with the flow and do our best without attempting to fulfill impossible standards we set for ourselves.

Releasing Emotional Obstacles Our feelings might still make us feel unsatisfied even if everything about our lives appears to be amazing. Our growth can be hindered by traumatic experiences. thought that is negative

Habits can make us feel frustrated and helpless. Sabotaging any goals we set might result from negative self-talk. It can be difficult to manage emotions.

Although it gets simpler once we realize that our thoughts power our emotions, it is still difficult to grasp.

We will FEEL badly about ourselves if we have negative thoughts about ourselves. Our life will appear to have a negative theme if we concentrate on the bad aspects of it. Our emotions are entirely dependent on what we concentrate on the most.

Recall the most recent occasion when something trivial caused your day to take an abrupt turn for the worse.

Let's imagine you were going to work, singing along to a music on the radio, when a jerk cut you off in traffic. "What a jerk!" may be your initial reaction (or something more vivid).

Your next idea may be, "People are so impolite nowadays, and I appear to meet the rudest of them all! What did I ever do to earn this?"

As you consider your misfortune in having to deal with rude individuals, your mood might continue to worsen from there. Do you see what transpires in these kinds of circumstances? You internalize the negative experience after you have it. Not only for now, but for the remainder of your day.

Even worse, since your attitude often draws the majority of your experiences, having a negative mood will keep bringing in more bad experiences, and thoughtless individuals in your life. It appears impossible, but we can regulate our emotions. Every second of every day, we may choose how we feel. We begin by choosing our thoughts. Using the

What would be a more encouraging response given the instance above? You could just respond, "That wasn't very nice," and then resume singing. Although it may appear difficult to do when your anger is fired, it gets easier with experience. Simply let go of the things that occur to you, particularly the things you cannot control, and maintain your emotional balance rather than internalizing them. You will become aware of whether your thoughts are negative or positive if you pay attention to how you feel throughout the day. Then you may just decide to let go of your negative ideas and replace them with positive ones, ideas that will make you feel better.

Once more, mastering this approach requires constant work. Making room for something better by letting go of the past. It's a little more difficult to let go of old traumas since they're often buried deeply in our subconscious minds. However, whether they are buried or not, they can still cause damage to our happiness.

One of the most effective strategies I've discovered for letting go of past baggage is to relive the hurtful moments. Even if it doesn't sound like much fun (and in fact it isn't), it is undeniably liberating. If you think about it for a second,

Simply because we didn't give ourselves the opportunity to deal with it the first time around, a significant portion of our emotional baggage is "buried" as a result. And there they are, festering, after we suppressed and attempted to disregard them. We may release painful memories and find closure if we bring them back up and process them as we may have done when they first occurred. You may do this yourself, but if you've suffered major, life altering trauma, you might want to seek advice from a counsellor or therapist. A trained professional may offer invaluable assistance as a guide during this emotionally taxing yet straightforward procedure. You may wish to explore the underlying beliefs that resulted from your emotional blockages after you have worked through them.

A profound conviction that you are undeserving of love, for instance, might be a result of a traumatic upbringing. Even while processing painful recollections might be empowering, it won't instantly alter your fundamental views on your worth as a person. You may still avoid

undermining your attempts to build a happy life and intimacy. The positive thing is that after you recognize your limiting beliefs, you may start

by paying close attention to them.
