YOU’RE NOT STUCK, YOU’RE BEING STRETCHED

YOU’RE NOT STUCK, YOU’RE BEING STRETCHED

In some times of the year, it seems as if things aren't moving at all. You pray and yet nothing changes, you work and nothing changes, you wait and nothing changes. You start to question God and possibly yourself, has God forgotten about you? Will your dreams come true? Sometimes, however, it seems as if we are struggling, but really God is stretching us to prepare us for what lies ahead.

Increase doesn't always feel good. A tree's roots need to grow deep before it becomes strong. A butterfly has to fight and push to break free of its cocoon before it can fly. Similarly, God sometimes puts us through hard times, so that He can develop something bigger in us.

It's okay to feel pressured right now but that's not a failure. It may be helping you become patient, it may be deepening your faith, it may be growing your wisdom, it may be preparing your character for the blessings to come.

Consider the words of the prophet Ezekiel, 47:5.It was a river which was in passable, water for drinking. As the prophet walked forward, the water grew deeper. Initially, it was just ankle deep. Then it went up to his knees, then his waist until it was simply too deep to cross by walking.

This is a picture of spiritual growth. God may provide you with enough strength for one step at a time. Next He goes deeper into you. Those things that once scared you are soon the site of your strength.

Don't compare your path with anyone else's. Someone may appear to be swimming while you are still standing in ankle deep water. You are not behind, that doesn't mean. There is a different process for each person from God. You are not destined to be at the level that you are at now.

Maybe it's been a while; maybe you've been waiting for a chance; maybe you've been praying for something to break through; maybe you've been depending on God. Avoid letting the delay fool you: nothing is taking place. Often times, it isn't what's happening around us, but what God is doing in us!

Wait can be a better teacher than success. It can help you learn to endure when it's tough, to be humble when it's good, to have faith when you don't see the end, and to be thankful when the answer arrives.

If you feel a little heavy headed today, breathe and keep going. You might not know how everything will go, but don't have to know the entire path beforehand.

Keep in mind: You don't have to endure. You're stretched.

Things that are difficult now could help prepare you for things you never thought of doing before. Tears are to be shed upon the seeds of the future. Closed doors may be keeping you from facing matters that you are not ready to encounter.

God understands your ability. He knows the way you will travel and He knows how to get you there. Trust His process. Do not hurry Him.

Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep walking.

One day you'll look back at the season and you'll see how it was preparing you for the future.

You are not stuck. You're stretched. And the deeper waters may be saying, "swim, swim, swim".
