Comfort is a gentle place.
It wraps itself around our fears,
calls itself peace,
and convinces us that staying still
is the same thing as being safe.
I have lived there before.
I have held onto familiar habits,
walked the same circles,
and delayed brave decisions
simply because the unknown
felt louder than my dreams.
Comfort never shouted.
It whispered,
"You can start tomorrow."
"You’re not ready yet."
"Stay where everything feels familiar."
And for a while,
I believed it.
But seasons have a way
of teaching what comfort never can.
I am learning that becoming
is not a sudden miracle.
It is a quiet choice
made over and over again—
to unlearn,
to relearn,
to rise,
to begin again.
Growth rarely feels comfortable.
It looks like waking up early
when your bed is warm.
It looks like studying
when distraction is easier.
It looks like choosing discipline
when excuses seem kinder.
The strongest trees
do not grow because the wind never came.
They grow because they learned
to stand through storms.
Perhaps I am still a seed,
hidden beneath ordinary days,
wondering if anything is changing.
Yet even beneath the soil,
growth is happening
where no one can see.
So I will not despise
this small beginning.
I will thank God
for the season I am in,
and I will keep becoming—
wiser,
humbler,
stronger,
more purposeful
than I was yesterday.
Because maybe the life I have been praying for
is not waiting inside comfort.
Maybe it is waiting,
patiently and beautifully,
on the other side
of my comfort zone.
