A STRANGER TO HIMSELF
He feels new to this system,
Like he has awakened inside a foreign body,
Where everything feels strange,
And even breathing feels unfamiliar.
He tries to understand the world,
But the world never explains itself.
He watches everyone move forward,
While he struggles to understand why he feels stuck.
But hold on a minute,
What happens when nothing seems to work?
When a man keeps trying,
Yet life keeps reminding him that trying isn't enough?
So he lets the pain drown him,
Not because he's weak,
But because fighting battles nobody sees
Has become more exhausting than losing them.
He watches people laugh, love, and belong,
While he stands outside a life he cannot understand.
Everyone seems to have found their place,
Except the man still searching for his.
He wants to scream, but nobody is listening.
He wants to cry, but he was taught to be strong.
He wants someone to notice his silence,
Yet fears they will discover how broken he feels.
And slowly, he becomes a stranger to himself,
Carrying wounds he cannot explain,
Wearing strength like a mask,
While something inside him quietly falls apart.
Perhaps the cruelest pain isn't being alone,
But feeling forgotten in a world full of people,
Existing everywhere, yet belonging nowhere.
