I Just Joined Writers Arena Today — And I’m Starting From Zero 😭

Good morning everyone.

I just joined Writers Arena today, and honestly, I’m still trying to understand how everything works. 😂

I never post any article here before. I never get any views. I’m literally starting from zero, so if you’re also new here, you’re not alone.

When I first came across Writers Arena, I was curious about how the whole thing works. I saw people talking about writing articles, getting views and earning from their posts, and I thought, “Okay, let me try this thing.”

So here I am. 😂

No followers.

No views.

No experience.

Just me trying to figure everything out.

At first, I was even confused about what kind of article I should write. Should I talk about entertainment? Music? Football? Nigerian trends? Personal experiences? There are plenty things to talk about, but choosing one topic can still be difficult when you’re just starting.

Then I realized something: I don’t need to know everything before I start.

Sometimes, you just have to start and learn along the way.

One thing I’m already paying attention to is the title.

Because let’s be honest, if an article has a boring title, many people might scroll past it without even opening it.

For example, compare these two titles:

“Afrobeats Songs”

and

“5 Afrobeats Songs Nigerians Still Have on Repeat”

The second one sounds more interesting because it makes you curious about which songs made the list.

But I also don't want to create a title that promises something the article doesn't actually contain. If people click because of the title and then discover that the article is completely different, they may not continue reading.

Since I’m new, I’m also trying to understand how views work.

I don't expect my first article to suddenly get thousands of views. Maybe it will get a few views. Maybe more people will see it. I honestly don't know yet.

And that's okay.

I’m starting from zero, so even getting my first few readers would make me happy.

The main thing I want to do now is experiment.

I want to try different topics and see what people enjoy reading. Maybe entertainment will work for me. Maybe music will. Maybe something completely different will surprise me.

I’m also interested in writing about things Nigerians can relate to.

You know those everyday situations where you read something and immediately say, “Omo, this thing na me!” 😂

Those are the kinds of stories I want to explore.

And yes, I’ll probably use Pidgin sometimes.

Why?

Because na how I naturally talk. 😂

I feel like mixing English with Pidgin can make some articles feel more natural and relatable, especially when talking about everyday Nigerian experiences.

But I’ll still try to make my writing easy to understand.

For now, I’m not trying to act like I’m an expert.

I’m a beginner.

I’m learning.

I’m testing things.

And hopefully, as I continue posting, I’ll understand the platform better and improve my writing too.

If you’re also new to Writers Arena, maybe we can learn together.

If you’ve been here for a while, feel free to share some advice for beginners. What type of topics usually get people interested? How do you come up with good titles? And what mistakes should a new writer avoid?

Because right now, I’m just trying to understand this whole writing journey. 😂

Today, I might have 0 views.

Tomorrow, maybe I’ll have a few.

And who knows what happens after that?

For now, I’m just happy that I finally started.

Everybody has a first post. This is mine. ❤️

Let’s see where this goes. 🚀
