Two men with different backgrounds, two men on different paths, two men that speak in different ways can have the same message in their hearts. Sometimes the stories are similar, sometimes they are not; sometimes the problems are the same, sometimes they are not; sometimes the solutions are the same, sometimes they are not. But sometimes the end goal brings them together.
Two men, one message: Two paths and one mission.
Life assigns people different assignments. Some people start their journey with nothing but determination, others might have opportunities placed before them. You can learn the hard way and another learn the easy way. However, both can get to the same place reaching the desire to make a difference.
Their lives could be different in the places where they live, but their calling brings them together.
One can speak on a platform and the other can speak through his action. Words can inspire thousands, but the other one can change lives quietly through kindness, sacrifice and service. One could be "known" and the other remains "unseen" and unknown.
However, the impact is not all about the number of people knowing your name.
Sometimes, the best message is in consistency. It can be seen in the man or woman who persists when nobody else does. It's discovered in the guy who elects integrity despite the apparent simplicity of dishonesty. It's in the one who will not stop, who recognizes that his journey is greater than himself.
Not every path is necessarily a different purpose.
Two men can see two different ways to get to the same place. They can disagree on things, personalities, experiences, approach and so forth but agree on core values. Walls are unnecessary when differences could become a bridge because of their common mission.
The world tends to be competitive – it asks who is better, who is stronger, who is more successful, who deserves more recognition. At other times the better question is: What do we build?
Knowing a mission can be more powerful when people realize that they don't have to take the same path to go in the same direction.
Success does not squander opportunities. There cannot be an absence of one man's light simply by the presence of another man's light. There is opportunity for varieties of gifts, voices and methods.
The key is to get the message across.
When it's to inspire, let the message inspire. Let the service do the talking if it is to serve. Let it be that when you build, it is built upon this. When the mission is to change, the change starts with Character and Responsibility.
Two men. Two stories. Two journeys.
But there is one final lesson to be learned: When purpose is the same, but the path is not.
Sometimes, multiple paths may lead to a single goal. Where the mission outweighs the individual, differences are not divisions, but strengths.
The routes could be different.
The methods may vary.
The stories can vary.
However, when there is a single purpose, the message can be more powerful.
2 men, 1 message. There are several ways to do the same task.
