YOUR GRACE FOUND ME
poem

YOUR GRACE FOUND ME

I was walking through the darkness,

Eyeballs exhausted to see,

With loads I couldn't describe;

Until You appeared, my Lord, and found me.

I had crossed many valleys and so on,

Struck against/bumped into/bumps into,

But You never turned Your face from me,

That day you met me at the end of my strength.

As a broken vessel, your grace found me,

As all my hope was fading,

You spoke peace to my heart,

And reminded me to carry on.

I could never earn Your love,

I can never be worthy of Your care,

But You reached out into my darkness,

And revealed to me that You were always here.

Although others noted my shortcomings,

You saw potential in me and that I could become.

I thought that my story is over,

You announced that it was just starting.

In your mercy you sought me out in my weakness,

Your compassion has raised me up,

You helped me to be strong for today and tomorrow,

My tired heart has learned to soar on the wings of Eagles and to sing the praises of the Lord.

Now every breath is an evidence,

Each morning brings Your name.

I no longer am what I'm already,

I am changing my story because of Your grace.

Therefore for I will walk under Your mercy,

And trust You all my days.

For I was lost, but You found me,

And forever, I'll tell of Your goodness.
