WHERE MY HEART LEARNED TO HOPE AGAIN
poem

WHERE MY HEART LEARNED TO HOPE AGAIN

Went a day without a song,

Wearing the heavy burden of unsaid conflicts everywhere.

I had grown weary in my dreams and the courage had diminished,

I thought to myself, "Which way do I go?

I smiled when they asked me, "Are you okay? When they asked me, "Are you okay?

Clinging to the pain, deep inside.

The road in front of me was rather murky and lengthy,

Hope's song was no longer heard; and

But somewhere beyond my deepest pain,

There's a little light after the rain.

A soft voice said, “Wait,",

That night will remind me that dawn will not be denied.

I learned that broken hearts can heal,

And a beautiful end for the painful journeys.

I learned that tears are not a sign of failure,

Sometimes they water the dreams that we want.

So I picked up the bits and pieces I left behind,

Gradually refreshed my harassed mind.

I no longer counted the failures I had endured,

And began to know that I could prevail.

In the new morning, every sunrise speaks to me,

Of what may be in the future I can't imagine.

My heart beats softly, but it's filled with faith,

Understanding that grace is available for tomorrow.

I do not know what road the road will take me,

But I have learnt to trust what I need.

When I was lonely hope found me,

He helped me to dream to my heart's content.

Today I rise with courage from within,

Faith is my compass and love is my guide.

Though I see the past and it still remains, it no longer possesses me

I can hope, my heart has learned to hope again, finally free.
