When Everyone Else Seems Ahead
You watch them moving,
one promotion, one wedding, one breakthrough at a time,
while your own life feels stuck in the same room,
with the same questions sitting beside you.
You begin to wonder,
“Am I doing everything wrong?”
You replay your choices,
compare your timeline,
and quietly blame yourself
for not arriving where others already seem to be.
But listen:
progress is not always loud.
Sometimes it looks like surviving a season
that almost broke you.
Sometimes it is learning what no one applauds,
healing from what no one saw,
starting again after disappointment,
and choosing not to give up
even when nothing seems to be changing.
You are not behind.
You are simply living a life
that cannot be measured by someone else’s milestones.
Their success is not proof of your failure.
Their open door does not mean yours is locked forever.
You do not know the nights they cried,
the years they waited,
the help they received,
or the battles they never posted.
So stop using another person’s chapter ten
to judge your chapter three.
You are allowed to move slowly.
You are allowed to change direction.
You are allowed to rest,
to rebuild,
to begin again without being ashamed.
Maybe this season is not punishment.
Maybe it is preparation.
Maybe the roots are growing
before anything appears above the ground.
Keep going.
Do the next honest thing.
Make the next small decision.
Learn, adjust, pray, try again.
One day, you will look back
and realize you were never standing still.
You were becoming stronger,
wiser,
clearer,
and ready.
Your life is not late.
Your journey is not ruined.
And you have not missed your chance.
You are still on your way.
