God anticipates that you will achieve the objectives He has fashioned specifically for you. No one else is capable of fulfilling the purpose He intended for you.
No one else can undertake the faith and effort required to meet the objectives He has established for you.
Trust in God's promises! Many individuals experience doubt because they fail to accept God's assurances. They peruse the Scriptures but then think, “That relates to someone else.” What is contained in the Bible is meant for you. Rely on it. James referenced this: If anyone amongst you is in need of wisdom "and we could insert here anything that we need or lack", let them seek it from God, who generously provides to everyone without scolding, and it will be granted to them. However, their request must be made in faith with no hesitation, as a doubter resembles a wave in the ocean, tossed about by the wind. For such a person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord; they are indecisive and unstable in every endeavor. (James 1:5–8)
A person who wavers in their pursuit of objectives, emotionally unstable and unsure about their beliefs concerning God's truths and promises, prepares themselves for disappointment. No one else can be held accountable.
Conversely, Jesus provided excellent reassurance regarding the outcomes for those who confront challenges with faith instead of skepticism. He instructed:
Place your faith in God. Truly, I tell you, whoever commands this mountain, “Move from here and throw yourself into the sea,” and believes in their heart without doubt, will have whatever they declare. Therefore, I instruct you that whatever you desire when you pray, trust that you have received it, and it will be granted to you. (Mark 11:22–24)
You should not harbor unrealistic expectations when striving for a goal that God has set. The process of moving a mountain could take considerable time, perhaps years or even decades. However, if you remain persistent in your quest for the goal, the mountain will shift, the barriers will be conquered, and the hindrances will be cleared. Do not invite doubt by believing that you can accomplish everything in a single day.
Consider, for instance, a young man who might feel called to share the gospel. If the Lord were to say, “I expect you to produce fifty years’ worth of messages during your lifetime,” that young man might feel overwhelmed at once. Instead, the Lord, in His grace, encourages, “I have set the goal for you to preach the gospel for as long as you live, with as much effectiveness, power, and clarity as you are able.” This is an attainable goal for an individual to embark upon. And if he lives long enough, he will indeed have sermons for fifty years.
The ultimate aim of a preacher’s lifetime of ministry is not the primary focus for this young evangelist. Instead, he should ask himself, “What is the most impactful sermon I can deliver this coming Sunday? What message does the Lord wish to convey through me to the congregation this week?” It is likely that the preacher has the confidence to trust God for an inspiring sermon each week, one week at a time.
You must direct your faith towards your immediate and short-term objectives.
This focus will make your faith the most powerful and effective. As time passes, your faith will grow stronger, making your immediate and short-term goals increasingly ambitious. Only when you reflect on the past will you be able to declare, “I lived by faith.” This is precisely how the Lord invites you to live:
The righteous shall live by faith. (Heb. 10:38)
We walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Cor. 5:7) The life I currently lead in the flesh, I lead by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and sacrificed Himself for me.
