WHAT HAPPENS WHILE YOU ARE ASLEEP?

It is easy to think that while you sleep, your body is doing nothing and your brain "shuts down." The truth is that while you rest, your brain and body are actually very busy with the processes happening inside you.

🧠 Your brain keeps working on and on even more while in sleep

While you sleep, it goes through several stages during the night, including the REM stage (rapid-eye movement).

🔄 In addition, your brain actively handles information (even extra-ordinary information) that may not be in the real time and stores the memories, which is why a good night's sleep often improves your thinking skills and helps you learn and remember new information more effectively.

💪 While your brain works hard to keep you healthy and working well, your body does not just turn off. It does several important jobs while you sleep some of which are:

❤️ First, your heart begins to beat more slowly and your blood pressure drops, giving your cardiovascular system a much-needed rest.

🛡️ At the same time, your immune system is busy supporting your body's defenses, which may help explain why ongoing poor sleep can make you more likely to get sick. Your biological clock also plays a big role in controlling many of your body's systems.

⚖️ Not getting enough sleep can also upset hormone regulation, which may lead to poor appetite control, low mood, trouble concentrating, and low energy during the day.

💭 And lastly, you can dream during different stages of sleep, though the most vivid and memorable dreams are usually linked to REM sleep.

⏰ Your circadian rhythm, or internal clock, controls your natural sleep-wake cycle, and it is surprisingly easy to throw off. Common disruptors include too little daylight, staying up late for fun, work, or school, stress, caffeine, and an irregular sleep schedule.

📱 Our modern lives tend to keep us up later than our bodies would like.

Light from screens, late-night entertainment, busy schedules, and constant stimulation can all make it harder to relax. And when sleep becomes a regular sacrifice, the effects can build up over time instead of going away after one good night.

While the occasional sleepless night will not hurt you, regularly missing out on sleep takes away valuable hours of recovery from your body and can harm your memory, emotional stability, performance, and metabolism.

⭐ THE MAIN POINT

While you are asleep, your body and mind get a lot of important things done. Your brain sorts and stores memories, manages how your body works, and keeps you healthy. At the same time, your body handles vital upkeep and healing work. Your brain and your internal clock team up to make sure these processes occur at the right moment, every night.

🌙 Sometimes, the most vital jobs your body does happen when you are not consciously in control of them.

Author's opinion

I really give my sleep enough of time that is the reason why, I got more strength of writing so many articles and research a lot of information the very next day without in any way been overwhelmed. How do value your sleep time? Do you feel happy working all the time without excessive night rest. You may share it with community here if you like!
