THE POISONED BLOOM
poem

THE POISONED BLOOM

THE POISONED BLOOM

Within the walls of the palace,

where secrets bloom like flowers,

there lived a girl with curious eyes

and knowledge beyond her years.

Maomao walked through silent halls,

where whispers hid behind curtains,

where every smile could conceal a secret,

and every beautiful cup

might carry death.

She knew the language of herbs,

the bitterness of poison,

the scent of medicine,

and the fragile line

between healing and harm.

Yet there was one mystery

she could never easily solve:

the strange feeling

that appeared whenever Jinshi smiled.

He was beauty wrapped in mystery,

a moon behind palace clouds,

always teasing, always watching,

always finding reasons

to stand a little closer.

She pretended not to notice.

He pretended not to care.

Between them grew something

neither dared to name.

It was not a flower

that bloomed quickly.

It was a hidden seed,

buried beneath suspicion,

duty, and countless unanswered questions.

Perhaps love in the palace

could never be simple.

Perhaps affection was another kind

of dangerous medicine,

one that could heal the heart

or leave it trembling.

Still, among the poison,

the politics,

the secrets,

and the endless midnight whispers,

two hearts slowly learned

that some feelings

cannot be tested in a bowl,

measured by a scale,

or explained by medicine.

Some things simply happen

quietly, dangerously,

beautifully.

And perhaps,

in a palace full of poison,

love became

the one mystery

Maomao could not cure.
