DANGERS OF PROSTITUTION
Chapter One — A New Beginning
Sixteen-year-old Amara could hardly believe her eyes when she saw her name on the university admission list.
She screamed with excitement.
“Mom! Dad! I got admitted!”
Her mother rushed into the room, and Amara showed her the admission letter with a huge smile.
Her parents were extremely proud. They had sacrificed so much to make sure their daughter had an opportunity to study.
“You must remember why you are going to that university,” her father told her. “You are going there to build your future. Choose your friends carefully.”
Amara nodded.
“I promise, Dad.”
She had always been a hardworking girl. She dreamed of graduating, getting a good job, and taking care of her family.
But she didn't know that university life would introduce her to people who would challenge everything she believed in.
Chapter Two — The New Friends
On her first week at the university, Amara felt lonely.
She missed home and didn't know many people.
One afternoon, she met three girls outside her lecture hall.
There was Sonia, who always dressed expensively, Blessing, who was funny and outgoing, and Mimi, who seemed to know almost everyone on campus.
“You're new here, right?” Sonia asked.
“Yes,” Amara replied shyly.
“Come with us. We'll show you around.”
Amara smiled.
For the first time since arriving at the university, she felt like she belonged.
The girls took her to restaurants, introduced her to other students, and showed her a lifestyle she had never experienced before.
Soon, Amara became very close to them.
But there was something they weren't telling her.
Their expensive clothes, phones, and constant spending were not coming from ordinary student allowances.
Chapter Three — The Invitation
One evening, Sonia invited Amara to a party.
“It's going to be fun,” she said. “You'll meet important people there.”
Amara hesitated.
“I don't know. My parents wouldn't want me going out late.”
Sonia laughed.
“You're in university now. You need to stop behaving like a child.”
Those words stayed in Amara's mind.
She didn't want her new friends to think she was immature.
So she went.
At the party, Amara noticed that some older men were giving the girls expensive gifts and money.
She became uncomfortable.
Later that night, Sonia pulled her aside.
“You could make good money too,” she whispered.
Amara shook her head.
“No. That's not for me.”
Sonia rolled her eyes.
“You're too innocent. Just think about it.”
Amara went home that night feeling confused.
Chapter Four — The Pressure
Over the next few weeks, Amara noticed that Sonia and the others were spending more money than ever.
They encouraged her to join them.
“You need money for clothes, food, and school materials,” Blessing told her.
“My parents send me money,” Amara replied.
“But what if they can't send enough?”
Amara had no answer.
Eventually, the girls introduced her to people who promised her quick money.
At first, Amara refused.
But the pressure became stronger.
She started missing classes and hiding things from her parents.
The girl who had once dreamed of graduating at the top of her class was slowly losing sight of her goals.
Chapter Five — The Price of Easy Money
Amara soon discovered that the people promising easy money were not interested in helping her.
They wanted control over her.
The situation became frightening.
She realized that the lifestyle her friends had presented as glamorous was hiding manipulation, exploitation, fear, and broken trust.
Amara wanted to leave, but she was afraid.
She remembered her father's words:
“Choose your friends carefully.”
For the first time, she understood what he meant.
Chapter Six — The Truth Comes Out
Amara's behavior eventually became impossible for her parents to ignore.
Her mother noticed that she had become withdrawn and was no longer performing well in school.
One evening, she sat beside her daughter.
“Amara, what is happening?”
Amara tried to remain silent.
But eventually, she broke down and told her mother everything.
Her mother hugged her.
“You made a mistake, but you are not beyond help.”
With the support of trusted adults and the appropriate authorities, Amara began taking steps to leave the situation safely.
She also returned her attention to her education.
Chapter Seven — A Second Chance
Leaving that lifestyle was not easy.
Amara had to distance herself from the friends who had introduced her to it.
She began attending classes regularly again and sought help from people she trusted.
Slowly, her grades improved.
Months later, Amara stood in front of a group of younger students during a school awareness program.
She told them about peer pressure, manipulation, and the danger of believing that quick money comes without consequences.
“Don't let someone convince you that you have to sacrifice your future for money,” she said.
“Choose your friends carefully. And if someone is pressuring, threatening, or exploiting you, speak to a trusted adult and get help.”
Amara looked at the students and smiled.
Her life had taken a painful turn, but she had found her way back.
She understood something important:
A mistake does not have to become the end of your story.
Sometimes, asking for help is the first step toward getting your life back.
