Peace is like a river flowing, and comes softly,
In the solitude of the wild windy valleys,
It does not rush, it keeps on going,
Healing and helping wounded hearts to grow.
As storms come and night falls,
If the tears fall in the night,
Peace says softly, “You will rise again,
Easily guides the heart towards light.
As a river winds through the mountains,
It has a way when paths appear blocked,
Through cracks it brings hope,
And strengthens the feeble.
Peace is not the lack of problems,
He's not a painless life;
It is knowing that after each sorrow,
After the rain there will be sunshine.
Sometimes peace is found in silence,
In a prayer that comes from the heart,
Through every season, in trusting God,
Thinking Him to be present from the beginning.
Let my heart be like a River,
Deep and wide, calm and steady;
Make faith my silent support,
When fear and doubt are on my side.
And when the world becomes too heavy,
Let's jog my memory:
Even rivers have numerous challenges to overcome,
But they will not stop flowing.
May peace be the water in my soul,
Revitalizing all exhausted areas;
And may his soft, never ending river
Forever flow within my heart.
