NOT EVERY DELAY IS A DENIAL

In life, there are times when we desire something so badly, work towards it, pray about it, and expect it to happen, yet nothing seems to be working. We begin to wonder what we are doing wrong, why things are taking so long, and why others seem to be progressing while we remain in the same position.

However, one thing we must understand is that not everything we desire is something we are fully prepared for. Sometimes, we think we are ready for certain opportunities, but we still need to grow, learn, develop the right mindset, or acquire the necessary skills to handle them. We may be focused on receiving the opportunity without realizing that becoming the person capable of sustaining it is equally important.

Another reason delays can be difficult is that everyone wants progress. Nobody wants to keep putting in effort without seeing results. When we repeatedly try something and it doesn't yield the outcome we expect, discouragement can set in. We may begin to question our abilities, lose motivation, or even conclude that our efforts are pointless.

But what if the period when nothing seems to be happening is an opportunity to work on ourselves?

Waiting should not be a period of wasted time; it should be a period of preparation. If we haven't achieved what we desire yet, we can use that time to learn more, develop our skills, correct our weaknesses, and become better versions of ourselves. Instead of spending all our energy worrying about when our opportunity will come, we can focus on becoming better equipped to handle it when it does.

Nevertheless, we must understand that patience does not mean remaining passive. Sometimes, what we call a delay is an indication that we need to change our approach. If we keep doing the same thing repeatedly without getting results, we may need to evaluate our methods, seek advice, learn a new skill, or try a different strategy. There is a difference between waiting for the right opportunity and refusing to take the necessary steps towards our goals.

Therefore, patience must go hand in hand with wisdom. We must learn when to keep going, when to improve, and when to change direction. We cannot control every outcome, but we can take responsibility for the actions within our control.

Furthermore, we must learn not to measure our progress against other people's timelines. It can be difficult to watch our friends secure opportunities, build successful careers, achieve financial stability, or reach milestones we are still hoping for. However, their progress does not mean we have failed. Everyone has different circumstances, opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities.

The fact that something is happening for someone else now does not mean it will never happen for you. Rather than becoming bitter or comparing your journey with theirs, channel that energy into becoming better. Learn from others where you can, celebrate their achievements sincerely, and remain committed to your own growth.

Of course, not every delay guarantees that we will eventually get exactly what we want. Sometimes, circumstances change, plans fail, and we must learn to pursue a different path. But even then, the time spent learning, growing, and developing ourselves is not necessarily wasted.

Ultimately, the goal is not simply to get what we want as quickly as possible. It is also to become wiser, stronger, more capable, and better prepared for the responsibilities that come with our goals.

LESSONS TO REMEMBER

1. Sometimes, we desire opportunities we are not yet prepared to handle.

2. Use your waiting period to learn, grow, and develop yourself.

3. Patience does not mean doing nothing; evaluate your approach and take action when necessary.

4. Someone else's progress is not proof of your failure.

5. Do not allow comparison and bitterness to distract you from your personal growth.

6. Remain open to new opportunities and alternative paths when your original plans do not work out.

Remember: You may not be where you want to be yet, but you can use where you are to prepare for where you want to go. Do not spend your entire waiting period wishing for a different season. Make the most of the season you are in.
