Our Offences
We traverse the globe with majesty and arrogance.
Seeking right and forgetting wrong.
We shatter the hearts we should mend,
And harm people who consider us friends.
As shadows remain, so do our transgressions.
accompanying us all day long.
We tell lies and speak harsh words.
And conceal our mistakes from prying eyes.
We evaluate our neighbors carelessly,
However, we conceal the flaws we possess.
We want retribution, not quiet.
Let our compassion and love come to an end.
How many times have we turned away?
From people who needed us that day?
How many tears we've made to fall,
By turning a blind eye to love's soft cry?
Still, mercy is available.
To quiet alarms and cure our wounds.
God sees the heart beneath the skin,
And is aware of the battles fought inside.
Even though we have gone astray from righteous ways,
Our future days may be guided by his kindness.
A humble heart and a sincere plea,
Can assist us in locating the road to freedom.
Let us atone and mend our ways.
Make peace with your enemies and love your friends.
Because life is fleeting and our time is short,
Let kindness develop where there was previously sadness.
