LET'S TALK ABOUT THEM!!

LET'S TALK ABOUT THEM: THE "PLAN B" LOVERS

“If you want to love someone, don’t love them too much.”

“Don’t put all your heart into it, just in case anything goes south.”

I’ve heard it from guys. I’ve heard it from ladies. It sounds wise. It sounds mature. But let’s call it what it is: fear dressed up as strategy. We’ve turned love into a business deal with an exit clause. We walk into relationships with one foot in and one foot out, clutching a “plan B” like a life jacket.

Why “Plan B” Kills Love

Here’s the problem. When you enter a relationship with a “plan B” mindset, you’ve already poisoned it.

Your motives get messy. You’re not loving — you’re auditioning. You’re testing, calculating, measuring risk. You’re protecting your heart instead of opening it.

But love was never meant to be safe. Real love is reckless. It’s vulnerable. It’s “all in” or it’s nothing.

So I’ll ask you: If you’re holding back, are you really loving? Or are you just managing disappointment in advance?

*Paragraph 3: The Danger of Safety Nets*

We think protecting ourselves will save us from heartache later. And maybe it will. But it also guarantees something else: you’ll miss the deep connection you’re craving.

You can’t swim halfway. You can’t pray halfway. You can’t build halfway. And you definitely can’t love halfway.

Half measures equal half heartache. You’ll get exactly what you gave — a shallow version of love that leaves both people hungry.

The Evidence Is Everywhere

Ever met a couple that’s been together for 2 years and they’ve _never_, not even for one day, talked about their future?

No dreams. No “where do you see us in 5 years?”. No “what are we building?”.

Their entire relationship runs on:

“Have you eaten?”

“Do you have data subscription?”

“How was your day?”

That’s it. Mundane. Surface-level. Safe.

WHY??

Because they’re playing safe. Because deep conversations require deep commitment. And deep commitment feels risky when you’ve already prepared your heart for goodbye.

When Safety Turns Into Faking

And that’s how people start faking love.

They smile, they post cute pictures, they say “I love you”... but none of it reaches the soul.

Because you can’t fake depth. You can’t fake legacy. You can’t fake the kind of love that carries someone through hard seasons.

A relationship without vision is just two people killing time together until someone gets tired. That’s not love. That’s convenience.

The Way It Was Meant To be

Love is not a contract with clauses. It’s a covenant.

It’s giving your all _regardless_ of the outcome.

Yes, your heart might get broken. Yes, it might not work out. But a heart that has truly loved and truly lost is still richer than a heart that never dared to love at all.

The people who changed the world didn’t do it with “plan B.” They went all in. The marriages that last 50 years didn’t happen because both people kept their guard up. They happened because two people decided: “I’m in. No matter what.”

So let’s talk about THEM. And let’s talk about YOU.

If you must love, love with all your heart.

Stop dating with one eye on the exit. Stop keeping score. Stop building walls and calling it wisdom.

Tear down the safety net. Have the hard conversations. Dream together. Pray together. Build together.

Because at the end of your life, you won’t regret the love that risked and failed.

You’ll regret the love you never really gave

Don’t predetermine love’s outcome in a negative way.

Give love your all.

Anything less is just playing house.
