RELATIONSHIP AND LOVE

Have you ever seen lovers who are always together, always talking, unable to go a single day without seeing or hearing from each other? From the outside, it looks perfect, and sometimes people even envy them. But then, suddenly, they run out of words. The connection fades. The excitement disappears. They are always arguing and fighting. What once felt alive slowly becomes exhausting. You ask why? Many times, the relationship was never truly built on depth foundation, purpose, or growth. It was built on emotion, attachment, and the fear of being alone. So they seek constant connection to fill emptiness within themselves. At first, they talk endlessly, spend every moment together, and live only in the present excitement. But eventually, they drain themselves emotionally. There are no dreams to build, no meaningful plans, no personal growth, no deeper vision, just endless conversation, temporary excitement, and “going with the flow.” And after a while, even they cannot explain why the relationship is failing. They may blame a small disagreement or misunderstanding, but deep down, they are simply tired. The relationship became repetitive, empty, and directionless. Because when two empty people try to make each other whole, they may create noise for a while, but eventually the silence reveals the emptiness beneath it.

Relationships and love should be based on mutual respect and understanding, not co-dependence. Not a clingy or needy relationship. Your ability to understand this helps you to respect your partner's need for space, because you personally understand the value of alone time, and this understanding creates a healthy relationship and a better love life.

This is one of the major pandemics in today’s world. As social beings, we naturally long for connection, friendship, coworkers, colleagues, romantic relationships, and more. We are scared of being left out or being alone. So instead of setting a standard and making a decision for us, our fear decides for us, our emotions think for us, so we opt for relationships that most of the time do not please us. Some people find themselves in toxic relationship and they choose to stay. Why? You may ask, because their fear is directing them. What if I tell you that the strongest, healthiest relationships are formed between whole individuals, who are complete on their own, who can stand on their own with or without others, not between halves desperately seeking completion in each other. Not those whose lives are full of emptiness, and they are expecting others to come and fill the void for them. When you learn to be happy alone, you bring yourself full happiness into the relationship; you are only seeking someone to share your full, happy life with.

Seeking a companion should be from a place of willingness and readiness, not need or fear of filling your empty life. You come into the relationship with enough love and self-worth, with awareness of who you are, what you want, and what you are capable of doing. You can easily work out of an unhealthy relationship, and you can set your standards and boundaries without the fear of losing your significant other. Most importantly, the relationship will be based on mutual understanding, each person respects each other’s alone time or need for space without resorting to conflict. So when next you find yourself in any unhealthy relationship, pause and reflect, maybe the other party is not the problem, maybe you are.

Most of the time, we attract our kind. If you are in a toxic relationship, and you choose to stay, maybe in some way, you enjoy toxicity. If you are treated as worthless and someone who doesn’t really deserve much, and you still stay, maybe truly you are worthless and have no standards. The solution is simple: if you can’t fix it, you leave. Then create some alone time to reflect, discover your true self, know your self-worth, understand your principles and set your standard. Don’t be scared of losing people; be more cautious of losing your mind.
