My Gender

MY GENDER

My gender, we have been belittled,

Our voices ignored, our dreams unsettled.

They told us to shrink, they told us to hide,

But we found our courage and stood with pride.

We are not weak.

We are not objects, we are not toys,

We are women with dreams, with powerful voices.

We are minds full of wisdom, hearts full of fire,

We rise from the ashes and climb even higher.

Let us discover the strength that we hold,

Let us chase our dreams, both the new and the old.

Let us show the world what we’re truly made of,

With courage, with wisdom, with purpose and love.

We shall guard our hearts, our honour, our grace,

And never let anyone diminish our place.

We shall know our worth and refuse to pretend,

That our value depends on the love of a man.

We can stand on our own, we can rise, we can lead,

We can plant our own dreams and watch them succeed.

They may try to doubt us, they may question our name,

But we’ll answer their doubts by achieving our aim.

My gender, arise! Let your confidence show,

There is greatness within you, let everyone know.

You are worthy, you are capable, you are strong,

And the world will discover that it had you wrong.

So lift up your voice, let your courage be heard,

Let your actions speak louder than every harsh word.

My gender, stand tall, let your brilliance shine bright,

For we are not waiting for permission to take flight.

We are women.

We are strong.

We know our worth.

And we belong.

Echoes written in silence
Amal writes what silence cannot say. Hidden between poems, stories, and thoughtful reflections are echoes of faith, longing, and truths waiting to be discovered. Some words are meant to be read. Others are meant to haunt the heart.
