My land my home so dear,
Despite all fear, a country of hope.
Starting from the shores of Lagos and the plain of Kano,
In the valleys of Niger to the rain of the east.
You are the beats of the drum in the night,
The green and white that glistens so brightly.
Your people are strong, your spirit is true,
Hope in our minds, jobs to be done.
Through seasons of pain we have walked,
In hardship and suffering, in struggle and in rain.
But still we rise, we still believe,
We await better days, we hope we will get them.
Oh Nigeria all the worlds to which they belong,
1000 cultures, 1000 options.
Many are the tongues, one the heart,
There are various routes, but there is one fate.
May our leaders have clean hands,
Let justice and peace reign our lands.
Let all children dream,
And every worker enjoy the fruit of their labour.
Let knowledge be the lamp of every house,
Let opportunities cease to roam.
Let farmers thrive, let businesses flourish.
Let peace and unity everywhere flow.
Your story, Nigeria is still being written,
Your future by hope and courage is driven.
We may not be where we want to be,
But Nigeria we dream of, we still see.
So let us rise, with hearts as one,
And settle under the rising sun.
Not to gripe, but to do what we can,
To build up our country with a loyal spirit.
Nigeria, I will always be at home in you,
A land of promise, a land of destiny.
May God bless your people, both near and far,
And lead this nation to a new day.
Nigeria, arise! There's still time for your best days.
We can make the country we envision, when we work together.
