When the Stars Remembered My Name
poem

When the Stars Remembered My Name

Under a silent sky I walked,

Heavy hearted, exhausted eyed,

I wondered if my dreams had gone away,

Or just learned to wait, in disguise.

The moon glared silently down,

But darkness said, “You are lost.”

However, there is a place beyond the clouds above,

A little light was not willing to pay the price.

Then one after another the stars came out,

Like memories I had left behind.

I was called my name all night,

And awakened something in my mind.

“What you are, you are more than that,” they said.

More than the tears you cried by yourself.

Your roads are broken, your feet are shaped by your roads.

And every step has brought you home.”

Lifting up my tired head,

And grew fresh courage in my chest.

The hopes and dreams I left behind.

Were asking me to give my best.

The night was still and the road was long,

But the terror was gone from my eyes.

When the stars remembered my name,When the stars remembered the name of me,

I recalled the way to welcome the light.

So I went under the sky and walked,

While hope came back into my heart,

Knowing all the ends can turn into

The starting point of brighter journeys.
