THE BEGINNING
Before the first light touched the sky,
Before the morning learned to sing,
There was a quiet waiting,
A whisper before everything.
A seed beneath the soil,
A dream behind closed eyes,
A little spark of courage
Waiting for its time to rise.
The beginning is not always loud,
Sometimes it comes softly,
Like rain upon a window,
Or a smile given freely.
It may arrive after failure,
When yesterday has left a scar,
Reminding you that broken roads
Can still lead somewhere far.
Every river has a starting point,
Every story has its page,
Every mountain once looked distant,
Every bird began in a cage.
The beginning may feel frightening,
Because the ending is unknown,
But courage is born in moments
When we choose to move alone.
Do not despise small beginnings,
For great things start out small;
A single step can change a journey,
A single voice can reach us all.
The sun does not rush to morning,
Yet it arrives right on time;
The flower does not force its blooming,
Yet it opens in its prime.
So begin with what you have,
Begin with what you know,
Begin despite the questions,
And let your confidence grow.
Perhaps today is just a doorway,
Perhaps tomorrow holds your wings;
But every beautiful destination
Once began with simple things.
So take that first step gently,
Let hope become your friend.
For every journey worth remembering
Must begin before it ends.
