The Road Keeps Going
The road does not care who you are,
It just stretches forward.
In the morning, it is dust and hope,
Bare feet and big dreams.
You think you know where you are going,
You think you have the map.
Then life bends the road.
A friendship ends.
A plan fails.
Money finishes in the middle of the month.
Someone you love stops picking your calls.
You sit by the side of the road,
You ask, "Is this all?"
But the road keeps going.
It goes past the night you thought you would not survive,
Past the exam you failed,
Past the heartbreak that made your chest hollow.
And further down, there is laughter you have not laughed yet,
A person you have not met yet,
A morning where you will wake up and feel light again.
So tie your shoes, even if they are torn.
Drink water, say a prayer, and walk.
You do not have to run.
You do not have to know the end.
The road does not ask for perfection,
It only asks that you keep moving.
One step, then another.
That is how you get home,
That is how home finds you.
