THE LOCKER THAT NOBODY OWNED , PART TWO

The next morning, Locker 27 was gone.

Nurr stood at the end of the hallway, staring at the empty wall.

Aisha stood beside her.

“It was right here,” Nurr whispered.

“I know.”

“The wall was here yesterday. The locker was here yesterday. We opened it yesterday.”

Aisha looked around nervously.

“Then where did it go?”

Before Nurr could answer, the school bell rang.

They hurried to class, but neither of them paid attention to the lesson.

During lunch, Nurr pulled out the old photograph they had taken from the locker.

There was something written on the back that they hadn't noticed before.

A date.

October 14 — 2:17 p.m.

Aisha stared at it.

“That was the day my cousin disappeared.”

Nurr's eyes widened.

“Then we need to find out what happened at 2:17.”

They spent the afternoon searching through old school records.

Finally, they found an old newspaper in the library.

The headline read:

STUDENT LEAVES WESTBRIDGE HIGH WITHOUT EXPLANATION

The student was Aisha's cousin, Sami.

But there was something strange.

According to the article, Sami had left the school willingly.

Aisha shook her head.

“That isn't true.”

“How do you know?”

“Because he never came home.”

Nurr looked at the article again.

At the bottom was a photograph of the old school hallway.

Nurr zoomed in.

There was Locker 27.

And standing beside it was Mr. Bello.

Aisha gasped.

“We have to talk to him.”

They found Mr. Bello after school.

Nurr placed the photograph on his desk.

“Why were you standing beside Locker 27 two years ago?”

He stared at the picture.

For several seconds, he said nothing.

Then he sighed.

“I knew this day would come.”

Aisha stepped forward.

“What happened to Sami?”

Mr. Bello looked at her.

“Sami discovered something he wasn't supposed to discover.”

“What?”

“He found evidence that someone had been stealing money from the school's activity funds.”

Nurr's eyes widened.

“Who?”

Mr. Bello shook his head.

“I can't tell you.”

“Why not?”

“Because the person responsible still works here.”

Aisha looked frightened.

“Who?”

Before Mr. Bello could answer, the classroom door opened.

The principal walked in.

Everyone became silent.

Mr. Bello quickly gathered the photograph and handed it back to Nurr.

“Go home,” he whispered.

That night, Nurr couldn't sleep.

She kept thinking about the missing locker, Sami, and the mysterious camera.

Then her phone buzzed.

Unknown number.

You want answers? Come to the old library tomorrow. Alone.

Nurr immediately showed Aisha.

“Definitely not going alone,” Aisha said.

The next afternoon, they went together.

Inside the old library, they found a box underneath a loose floorboard.

Inside was Sami's notebook.

Aisha opened it.

Page after page contained names, dates, and amounts of money.

Then they reached the final page.

I know who is doing it.

Below that was a name.

Nurr read it once.

Then again.

Her heart dropped.

It was the name of someone they had trusted the entire time.

Before they could say anything, the library lights went out.

Aisha grabbed Nurr's arm.

“Did you hear that?”

Footsteps moved between the shelves.

Then a voice spoke from the darkness.

“You should have left this alone.”

The lights suddenly came back on.

Nobody was there.

Except for a note lying on the table.

LOOK BEHIND YOU.

Nurr slowly turned around.

The wall behind them had moved.

There was a hidden doorway.

Inside was Locker 27.

But this time, the locker door was already open.

Nurr stepped closer.

Inside was one final photograph.

It showed Sami.

And beside him stood the person whose name was written in his notebook.

Aisha covered her mouth.

“He's alive.”

Nurr stared at the photograph.

Then her phone buzzed again.

A new message appeared.

You found the locker. You found the truth. Now find Sami.

Nurr looked at Aisha.

“We're not finished.”

Aisha nodded.

Behind them, the hidden door slowly closed.

And somewhere in the school, someone was watching them.

Nurr grabbed Aisha's hand.

“Come on.”

“Where?”

“To find Sami.”

They rushed out of the library.

They knew the person behind everything was still somewhere in the school.

But now they had something they didn't have before.

A clue.

The name in Sami's notebook.

The two girls went straight to the principal's office.

They waited until the hallway was empty.

Then Nurr slipped the notebook under the office door.

A few seconds later, the door opened.

Mr. Bello stood there.

He looked at the notebook.

Then he looked at them.

“You found his notebook.”

“We found more than that,” Nurr said.

Aisha held up the photograph.

“Sami is alive.”

Mr. Bello's face went pale.

He quickly pulled them inside.

“You don't understand,” he whispered.

“Then explain it,” Aisha said.

Mr. Bello locked the door.

“Sami disappeared because he was afraid the person he discovered would find him.”

“Who was it?” Nurr asked.

Mr. Bello looked at the name written in the notebook.

“The person who stole the money wasn't working alone.”

Nurr's eyes widened.

“Then who else was involved?”

Mr. Bello pointed toward the photograph.

“Look at the background.”

Nurr stared at it.

Behind Sami was a familiar building.

The old science block.

Aisha immediately understood.

“He's there.”

They ran to the old science block.

The building had been closed for years.

The door was unlocked.

Nurr pushed it open.

The hallway was dark and dusty.

Then they heard something.

A knock.

Three times.

Aisha looked at Nurr.

“Did you hear that?”

Another three knocks came from behind a door.

Nurr opened it.

Sami stood inside.

Aisha froze.

Then she whispered,

“Sami?”

He looked at her.

“Aisha.”

She ran toward him.

For the first time in two years, Aisha finally had her cousin back.

Nurr stood nearby, smiling.

But Sami's expression was serious.

“You shouldn't have come here.”

“Why?” Nurr asked.

“Because the person you are looking for knows you're here.”

Suddenly, footsteps echoed down the hallway.

Everyone went silent.

The footsteps stopped outside the door.

The handle slowly began to turn.

Nurr looked at Aisha.

Aisha looked at Sami.

Then the door opened.

Mr. Bello stood there.

Behind him was the principal.

And between them was the person whose name was written on the final page of Sami's notebook.

The truth was finally out.

The missing money was recovered.

The evidence Sami had collected was handed over.

And the mystery that had haunted Westbridge High for two years was finally solved.

Sami returned home.

Aisha never let him out of her sight again.

And Locker 27?

It was eventually found behind the old library wall.

Nobody knew who had moved it.

Nobody knew how it had disappeared so easily.

But Nurr didn't care anymore.

She had learned that some mysteries were meant to be solved.

And some secrets were meant to stay buried.

A few weeks later, Nurr and Aisha walked past the old hallway.

The wall was empty.

No locker.

No photograph.

No strange messages.

Just an ordinary wall.

Aisha smiled.

“Finally.”

Nurr laughed.

“Finally.”

They walked away together.

And for the first time, the hallway felt completely normal.

But Nurr still remembered the words that had started everything.

Locker 27.

The locker nobody owned.

The locker that held a secret.

And the mystery that brought the truth back into the light.

THE END.
