Sooner or later in life, you have to get over being a little kid and take yourself seriously. Some day, excuses have to stop, as must distractions, and your focus must shift back to the life you really want. There's a saying that you can't wait for the right time, the right place or for someone to decide to change your life for you. So much for the games. It's time to create the life you want.
Life will not get better just because you want it to. Dreams require action. Goals require discipline. Success requires consistency. You need to be prepared to do the work for a vision you have in your mind regardless of who's watching, encouraging, or clapping you.
Don't compare your road with another person's. No one starts at the same place, faces the same problems, has the same opportunities or the same responsibilities. It is not your job to be somebody else. It's your job to be your very best.
In order to achieve financial stability, you need to acquire knowledge, get to work, save, invest judiciously and pick up useful skills. To get a better career, self-enhancement and seize chance are needed. If you desire significant relationships, be the kind of person who can create and sustain significant relationships. Walking away from unnecessary drama is the way to find peace. Make time for God and build up your faith if you desire spiritual growth.
It will take you a lifetime to create the life you want. It will be constructed by a process of small decisions, repeated again and again. What you learn today could be a skill today. A smart financial move could be a stable in the years ahead. It may be only one brave man or woman that opens a door you never thought of.
You have to learn to say no as well – distractions. Resist those who require you to go back and back. Don't put off doing it. Avoid excuses! Your future is worth protecting and in some cases, it may mean that you're making your future a disappointment for folks who are comfortable with your old methods.
Don't be intimidated to take a small step. If it's a beginning, it's a small one. You may not have everything you need right now, but you can start with what you have. Make changes in one area at a time. Practice a single skill per day. Work on one problem at a time. Keep moving.
Dark days will come. There will be failures, disappointments, delays and times when you will wonder about yourself. Failure is not the end of the story, though! Failure is sometimes just a chance to learn, adapt and do it over again.
What you do today is determining the future. You are either one step closer to the life you want or further away.
So stop waiting. Stop making excuses. Cease and desist from being afraid of the choices that you make. Take responsibility for your dreams, character, finances, relationships, career and purpose.
Enough of the games! You have control of your life. Start building. Start growing. Start becoming. You will REWARD yourself one day for not staying in your place!
