ISN’T IT STRANGE

I’ve been thinking about something.

Every day. Thousands of us enter a bus.

We don’t know the driver.

Yet we sit down, plug in our earphones, and even fall asleep.

We board a plane.

Most of us have never met the pilot.

We don’t ask for his qualifications.

We don’t knock on the cockpit door.

We simply fasten our seatbelt and trust him to get us to our destination.

We enter a train.

We don’t know the person operating it.

We step onto a ship. We’ve never met the captain. Yet somehow. We’re comfortable enough to relax.

Isn’t that strange?

We trust complete strangers with our lives every single day.

But when it comes to life itself.

The One who created us.

The One who knows the end from the beginning.

The One who has never lost control.

That’s where we struggle to trust.

Why?

We panic over tomorrow.

We lose sleep over things we cannot change.

We carry burdens that were never ours to carry.

I’m not saying life isn’t difficult.

It is.

I’m not saying pain isn’t real.

It is.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t plan.

You should.

But there’s a difference between planning.

And trying to control everything.

Sometimes I wonder if we’re exhausted because we’re trying to sit in a seat that belongs to God.

We want to know every answer before tomorrow comes.

We want every prayer answered on our timetable.

We want every road explained before we take the first step.

But life doesn’t work that way.

Faith has never been about knowing every turn.

It’s about trusting the One who does.

If you can sleep on a night bus driven by someone you’ve never met.

If you can fly thousands of feet above the ground with a pilot you’ve never spoken to.

If you can cross the sea with a captain whose name you don’t even know.

Why is it so difficult to trust the God who has carried you this far?

Maybe. Just maybe.

The greatest peace we’ll ever find isn’t in having all the answers.

It’s in knowing who’s in control.

DOES ANYONE EVER FULLY GROW INTO WHO THEY ARE?

I’ve been asking myself something lately.

Does anyone ever truly become who they’re supposed to be?

Or are we all just growing, changing, unlearning, relearning.

Until the day we die?

People keep saying,

“Find yourself.”

But where exactly are we supposed to find ourselves?

At 18?

At 25?

At 40?

Who decided there’s a finish line?

Because the older I get, the more I realize something.

The person I was five years ago couldn’t understand the person I am today and I’m willing to bet the person I’ll become five years from now will probably look back at me today and smile.

Not because I’m a bad person.

But because I’ll know more.

I’ll see life differently.

I’ll understand things I don’t understand today.

So what exactly are we trying to “find”?

Maybe we’re not lost.

Maybe we’re just unfinished.

Maybe that’s what being human is.

Growing out of old beliefs.

Letting go of old fears.

Questioning things we once defended.

Becoming kinder.

Becoming wiser.

Sometimes becoming quieter.

Sometimes becoming stronger.

Life has a funny way of introducing us to new versions of ourselves.

The version that survives heartbreak.

The version that survives failure.

The version that learns forgiveness.

The version that finally says no.

The version that stops living to impress people.

None of those versions existed until life demanded them.

That’s why I no longer believe anyone has everything figured out.

Some people are just further along the journey.

And maybe that’s okay.

Maybe growth was never supposed to end.

Maybe the day we stop growing.

Is the day we stop living.

Or maybe I’m looking at it the wrong way.

Do you think anyone ever fully grows into who they are or are we all a work in progress until the very end?
