Threads of Africa

Threads of Africa

Across the continent, colours rise,

Like morning painted through the skies.

From woven cloth to beads that shine,

Each pattern carries a hidden line.

Ankara dances on every street,

With bold designs and colours sweet.

Aso Oke rests with royal grace,

Woven with patience, strength, and taste.

Kente speaks in golden threads,

Of ancient stories, dreams, and threads.

Adire whispers indigo tales,

While beads adorn the neck like trails.

From Lagos streets to Accra's glow,

African fashion continues to grow.

Designers stitch with careful hands,

Blending old traditions with new lands.

A flowing gown can speak of pride,

A tailored suit stands strong beside.

Headwraps rise like crowns above,

Carrying culture, beauty, strength, and love.

Every seam remembers yesterday,

Yet boldly welcomes a brighter day.

The needle moves, the fabric bends,

And heritage through fashion blends.

Young designers dream and create,

Turning simple cloth into something great.

They mix tradition with modern style,

Making every runway stop and smile.

Fashion becomes a living song,

Where generations all belong.

It crosses borders, breaks every wall,

And gives African stories room to call.

From village hands to city lights,

African fashion proudly takes its flights.

It is not merely cloth we wear,

But history, identity, beyond compare.

So let the colours loudly speak,

Let every pattern proudly seek

To tell the world, with every thread,

That African culture lives, not dead.

Our fashion shines, our roots remain,

Through every stitch, through every grain.

Africa wears her story with pride,

With beauty walking by her side.
