Until Our Time Runs Out

Until Our Time Runs Out

UNTIL OUR TIME RUNS OUT

A reflective poem by Amal_Ash

We walk this earth as though we'll stay,

As though we own another day.

We chase the world, its wealth, its fame,

Yet rarely pause to ask its aim.

We build our homes, we guard our gold,

We fear the thought of growing old.

We make our plans, we dream so far,

Forgetting how brief our moments are.

The clock moves on, the seasons turn,

Yet still, how little do we learn?

We spend our days on things that fade,

And leave undone the good we’ve delayed.

We dress in pride, we boast in gain,

And chase applause that brings no gain.

We look down on the ones below,

Forgetting what we cannot know.

For death does not announce its name,

Nor does it care for wealth or fame.

It comes to those both rich and poor,

And leaves this world through every door.

And those who loved us may still weep,

As treasured memories they keep.

Our names may linger, stories told,

While hands once held grow still and cold.

Oh, how we take for granted breath,

Until we're faced with thoughts of death.

We say, “Tomorrow, I will pray,”

As though tomorrow must obey.

We say, “One day, I'll make things right,”

And let our chances slip from sight.

But who has promised us the dawn?

Who knows how many days are drawn?

Until our time runs out, dear soul,

Remember what should be your goal.

For life is more than what we gain,

And death will make all titles plain.

So mend the hearts you've torn apart,

Let kindness find a home in your heart.

Seek forgiveness, make amends,

And be a light to those you befriend.

Give when you can, forgive when wronged,

Stand firm in faith when days are long.

Let not your pride eclipse your grace,

Nor greed take goodness from its place.

Remember Allah in ease and pain,

And turn to Him again, again.

Let every prayer and good deed show

The love and faith within you grow.

For every soul shall taste its end,

No wealth, no status, rank, or friend

Can change the truth that Allah decreed:

To Him we turn, and Him we need.

And when the world we know is gone,

When earthly ties no longer hold on,

May we return with faith sincere,

With hearts that sought our Lord while here.

So live with purpose, let pride depart,

Let faith and kindness shape your heart.

Do good today; don't wait around,

For time keeps moving, without a sound.

And when we reach our final hour,

Beyond the reach of wealth and power,

May Allah grant our souls His grace,

And bless us with a peaceful place.

Until our time runs out, live right;

Keep faith alive, let goodness shine bright.

For life is fleeting, this much is true,

And every day brings us closer to our due.

Echoes written in silence
Amal writes what silence cannot say. Hidden between poems, stories, and thoughtful reflections are echoes of faith, longing, and truths waiting to be discovered. Some words are meant to be read. Others are meant to haunt the heart.
