*✨ BE CONTENTED WITH YOUR JOURNEY ✨*
Good morning,
I want to talk to you today about something we all struggle with. The feeling that we are behind. That someone else is doing better, moving faster, living more.
We live in a world that shows us everyone's highlight. On your phone, you see someone building a house, someone graduating, someone starting a business, someone getting married. And you look at your own life and you whisper, "What about me?"
Today I want to tell you, be contented with your journey.
Being contented does not mean you have stopped dreaming. It does not mean you have settled for less. It does not mean you are lazy.
Being contented means you have peace with where you are while you are working for where you are going.
Think about it. A mango tree and a maize plant do not grow at the same time. Maize grows in three months. Mango takes years. If maize laughs at mango and says, "Look, I am already tall and you are still small," that is foolish. Because their seasons are different. Their purpose is different.
Your journey is different too.
Some of you are in a season of learning. You are not earning much yet, but you are gaining wisdom. Some of you are in a season of building. It is slow, it is painful, nobody is clapping for you yet. Some of you are in a season of waiting. You have done your part and now life is testing your patience.
All seasons are important.
When you are not contented with your journey, you make two mistakes. First, you compare. Comparison is a thief. It will steal your joy and make you hate the beautiful life you have. You will never see your own progress if you are always measuring your chapter one with someone else's chapter ten.
Second, you rush. And when you rush what is meant to grow slowly, you destroy it. You cut corners. You enter the wrong relationships. You take the wrong job. Because you want to look like you have arrived.
But what if you embraced your process?
What if you said, "This is my path. It may not look like his, it may not be as fast as hers, but it is mine, and I will walk it well."
Contentment gives you power. When you are contented, you learn to celebrate small wins. You woke up today. You tried again. You learned one new thing. You did not give up. That is progress.
When you are contented, you become grateful. And a grateful heart sees opportunities that a complaining heart will never see.
My friends, your journey has not been easy. You have faced disappointments. You have been delayed. Some doors closed. But you are still here. You are still standing. That alone is proof that your story is still being written.
So today, I challenge you. Stop checking someone else's time. Your clock is still ticking. Water your own garden. Be faithful with the little you have now. Study when it is time to study. Work when it is time to work. Rest when it is time to rest.
Do not curse your journey because it is slow. A slow journey still moves forward.
One day, when you look back, you will understand why you had to go through that long road. You will see that the delay was preparing you. The struggle was strengthening you. The waiting was shaping you.
So be proud of how far you have come. Be hopeful for how far you will go.
Be contented with your journey. Own it. Respect it. Trust it.
Because in the end, it is not about who got there first. It is about who became the best version of themselves along the way.
Thank you.
