Lies are whispers in the dark,
They wear a smile, they wear a mask,
They promise love, they promise gold,
But underneath, they turn so cold.
A lie is born in fear and pride,
A little secret left to hide,
It grows and twists and learns to crawl,
Until it builds a towering wall.
You speak a lie to save a face,
Another follows to take its place,
Soon the truth is lost from sight,
Buried deep beneath the night.
Lies can burn a heart to ash,
They cut like glass, they sting like lash,
They break the trust that took years to build,
And leave the soul both cold and chilled.
Lies may dance, they may pretend,
They may call a stranger friend,
But in the end, they fade and fall,
For truth is stronger than them all.
So choose your words with care and grace,
Let honesty light your face,
A life built on a truthful start,
Will never break a faithful heart.
A world without lies would shine so bright,
Where love is pure and hearts feel light,
Where every promise holds its weight,
And truth arrives before it's too late.
But lies will knock on every door,
They whisper that they want much more,
They offer comfort, offer rest,
Yet leave a poison in your chest.
So when they call, be strong and still,
Stand for truth with iron will,
For one true word can break the chain,
And wash away the guilt and pain.
