NAKEDNESS; WHEN NOTHING REMAINS BUT SURRENDER
To be naked before God
Is not the absence of clothes;
It is the absence of pretence
The Place of Total Surrender
There is a place in our walk with God
Where we can no longer hide behind who we have become,
What we have achieved, what people think of us,
Or even the spiritual image we have carefully constructed
It is a place where every covering is removed
Not the covering of clothing, but the coverings of the soul.
To be naked before God is to stand before Him without pretence
It is to come without the masks, without the explanations,
Without the rehearsed answers, and without the need to
Convince God that we are stronger, better, or more spiritual than we truly are.
Inte It is the moment when the soul finally says,
“Lord, this is me, I have nothing to hide.”
And perhaps one of the most difficult things about
Surrendering, is that God does not merely ask us to
Surrender what is sinful
Sometimes He asks us to surrender what is comfortable
Sometimes He asks us to surrender what is familiar
Sometimes He asks us to surrender our plans,
Our timelines, our expectations, our relationships,
Our ambitions, our reputation, and even our
Understanding of what He is doing.
God is not impressed by the version of us we present to people
He sees beyond the appearance
He sees the motives beneath the actions,
The wounds beneath the behaviour,
The fear beneath the confidence, and the struggle beneath the praise
Nothing about us is hidden from Him
Therefore, nakedness before God
Is not about revealing something He does not already know
It is about becoming willing to stop hiding what He already sees.
Spiritual Nakedness
Is total surrender
No “Lord, but…”
No “Let me explain…”
No “Let me fix this first…”
You are no longer negotiating terms with God
You are yielding to His will
Even when it contradicts your plans,
Your comforts, and your carefully guarded timelines.
To stand naked before Him
Is to whisper;
Master, I do not understand,
But I trust you
Master, I do not have the strength,
But I will obey
Master, I do not know who I will become,
But I lay down who I am at your feet.
And there;
In that place of surrender,
God touches the places you did not even know
You were guarding, the wounds you spiritualized
The fears you justified and the pride you renamed
“Boundaries.”
Nakedness does not repel God; Hiding does
When you stand uncovered before Him, you give
Him permission to reshape you without resistance
Because you are no longer protecting the version of yourself
You have already outgrown.
This kind of Surrender
Completely Strips away
What you have outgrown
So “HE” can clothe you
With what you were called into
Fully moulded into his image and likeness
Fully aware of your identity in CHRIST
No image to maintain
No identity to defend
JUST TOTAL SURENDER!
