What My Lowest Taught Me

*WHAT MY LOWEST MOMENT TAUGHT ME*

*INTRODUCTION:*

Everyone has a moment in life when it feels like everything has fallen apart. For me, that moment came last year, and it almost made me give up on everything I had worked for. I am not sharing this story to seek pity, but because that lowest moment taught me the most valuable lessons of my life. If you are reading this and you are currently going through your own difficult season, I hope my story gives you hope and strength.

*1. WHEN EVERYTHING FELL APART*

It happened after I lost my small phone repair shop in Lagos. I spent almost two years saving money to open that shop. It was where I made a little income to support myself and my mother. Then one morning, the landlord came and locked the shop, saying my rent had expired, even though I begged him to give me just two more weeks. I lost everything inside — my tools and my customers’ phones that they had brought for repairs. In that same week, my girlfriend, who I thought would stay with me, left me because she felt I had no future. I went from being someone with a little pride and independence to someone who sat at home staring at the ceiling from morning till night. That was truly my lowest moment.

*2. NO ONE IS COMING TO SAVE YOU, YOU HAVE TO STAND UP YOURSELF*

During that period, I was waiting for a rich uncle to call me or for a friend to send me money. I called people I had helped in the past, but many did not pick up. Those who picked gave me excuses. That was when I learned that life is a personal race. No one will come to save you. If you do not stand up by yourself, you will remain on the ground. I stopped waiting for help and started doing little things. I started repairing phones from home and going to people’s houses to fix their phones. I felt ashamed at first, but hunger does not know shame. That was the first lesson — your rescue is in your own hands.

*3. I LEARNED WHO MY REAL PEOPLE ARE*

In my lowest moment, things became very clear. My friend James, whom I did not value much before, was the one bringing food to my house every two days. My mother, who did not have much, prayed for me every morning. But many people who used to shout “my guy, my guy” when I had money disappeared completely. My lowest moment taught me that not everyone who laughs with you is your friend. It taught me to value the few people who stayed when there was no light. Now that things are getting better, I will never forget those people.

*4. A LOW MOMENT IS NOT A PERMANENT ADDRESS*

The biggest lesson I learned is that a low moment is just a bus stop; it is not your final destination. There will be a time when it will pass. At that time, it felt like my life was over, but today I am writing, I am hustling on Writer’s Arena, and I am beginning to earn a little money again. If I had given up at that time, I would not be here today. So if you are in your own low moment right now, please do not harm yourself or do anything bad. Just hold on a little longer. Time heals, and hard work changes your story.

*CONCLUSION:*

My lowest moment almost killed my dreams, but instead, it built me. It taught me to be strong, to know my real people, and to understand that life is in seasons. The rain does not fall forever. If you are down now, let my story encourage you. Your own testimony is on the way. Just do not stop moving forward.
