There is a light within me,
A light that will never go out,
It pierces through all darknesses,
And ascends to the heavens.
When life becomes a burden,
And the tears start to stream down,
I hear a soft voice,
“Lift up, you are able to stand.
The road is not clear,
It can be a long trip,
On the inside however,
I am strong to persevere.
I've seen lots of dark days,
And passed through the storms of pain,
But each split second of each night
Has helped me to get back on my feet.
The light in me says to me
But that failure is not the end,
That each of the doors is closed.
When courage is my friend.
I may not live to see tomorrow,
But I think it will be sunny,
The world is a rainbow, hope is like a sunset.Hope is like a sunrise,
That's a night that's overcome.
Whenever I am in this world,
Whatever trouble I encounter,
I will hold this little flame,
Faith, love and grace.
The world may try to break me,
I know I can be, however, but.
I will continue to walk on ahead
In the light that is within me.
When my way shall end,
Make it obvious to all:
I never strayed from my path,
As I carried my light within me.
