Sometimes I sit quietly and wonder,
“Why is it so hard to find something doing at this age?”
Honestly, I don't understand it. I’m young, I have dreams, I have things I want to achieve, and I genuinely don't want to look back one day and feel like I wasted my youthful years doing nothing.
It sounds easy when people say, “Just learn a skill,” or “Get a job,” or “Start something.” But sometimes, actually doing those things is much harder than it sounds.
I have tried.
I’ve tried looking for things I could do. I’ve tried learning different things. I’ve searched for opportunities and thought about different ways I could make money. Sometimes I get so excited about a particular idea that I tell myself, “Yes! This is it. I can actually do this.”
Then somehow, things don't work out.
And when they don't, it can be really discouraging.
There are days when I feel like I can conquer everything. I wake up with this strong determination inside me, planning what I want to do and imagining the person I want to become. On those days, I feel like nothing can stop me.
But there are other days when everything feels completely different.
I start questioning myself.
“Maybe I'm not good enough.”
“Maybe I'm wasting my time.”
“Maybe I should just give up.”
And honestly, that feeling scares me because I don't want to give up on myself.
I don't want to wake up years from now and start asking myself why I didn't try harder when I had the chance. I don't want to grow older and regret spending my youth waiting for things to magically happen.
I want to be able to look back and say, “At least I tried.”
Even if I didn't succeed immediately.
Even if I failed several times.
Even if some of the things I tried didn't work.
At least I would know that I didn't just sit around and watch my life pass me by.
But right now, I genuinely feel like I need help. Sometimes I don't even know what direction to take anymore. There are so many things people say you can do, but finding something that actually works for you can be exhausting.
I’m still figuring myself out. I'm still learning what I'm good at and what I actually enjoy doing. Maybe that's part of growing up too—trying different things, failing sometimes, starting again, and slowly discovering yourself.
I just wish it wasn't this difficult.
I wish I could find something that works and finally feel like I'm moving forward.
For now, I’m trying to remind myself that struggling at this stage doesn't mean my future is ruined. Maybe I haven't found my path yet. Maybe I'm still at the beginning of the story.
So even on the days when I feel like giving up, I want to keep trying.
Because I don't want to waste my youth.
I want to build something.
I want to become somebody I'm proud of.
And most importantly, I want my future self to look back at this version of me and say, “Thank you for not giving up.”
