Life can be a broken man or woman, in ways no one imagines. The heart may be wounded, thinking mind exhausted due to disappointment, failure, rejection, loss, betrayal, poverty, painful experiences. At times, people might ask themselves, "Can anything good come from me? The answer is yes. It is possible for God to do incredible things with a broken life.
A broken life is not a bare life. The very wounds that we've received can be the places where our greatest strength will be developed. God doesn't see us just with the past. He looks upon the potential that we have because of His grace.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” This brings to mind that God is not far away when we feel abandoned. If they go away, He will be there. If we have a wrong way of doing things, He can make a new plan. When we can't see hope, He can provide us with a new hope.
Think of a broken fragment of clay in a potter's hands. The potter doesn't throw it away because it has lost its shape. With his hands, he can make it a beautiful creation. Similarly, God can use the shattered fragments in our lives and fashion something good from them!
You don't need to let your wrongs get in the way! You don't have to end your story with failure. The tears that you have shed can be used as evidence to your testimony. What battles you have overcome can be a motivation to someone else who is still in the struggle.
Difficult seasons in our lives may be to prepare us for greater things that God has in mind. Seeds need to be planted in soil in order to grow. Gold comes out of fire that reveals its beauty. Similarly, through challenging experiences, patience, wisdom, courage, and faith can be cultivated within us.
God can use one who once thought he had nothing and make him useful. He's able to give a person a second chance at success. He can bring him who is rejected and lead him to people who will appreciate him. He can heal the broken heart and show him how to love again.
Don't be embarrassed by your brokenness. Bring it to God. Don't have all these things in place before you come to Him. Bring in your hurts, your inquiries, your disillusionments and your fears. He is able to restore what life has damaged.
Don't forget that broken is not finished. A wall with a crack can be fixed. A broken heart can mend itself. There is hope for a man when he falls. A dream lost can be replaced by a better one!
Today you may feel broken, but God isn't done with you. You may only be at the end, and it may be the start of a new chapter. Put the pieces in His hands.
For when God takes a broken life in His hands, He can make pain into purpose, tears into testimony, failure into wisdom and brokenness into something beautiful.
