In addition to the shattered dreams,
Where silent tears have fallen,
The place where hope was once so bright
Now lie bruised and forgotten,
There is still a soft glow
Whispering, “Rise again.”
I've been in the midst of failure,
Wearing scars that no one knew about,
Observing dreams like the morning mist,
Wondering what became of me.
But each shattered heart I have,
Taught me how to stand on my own.
The dreams have been shattered,
There is a road that I do not see,
A future that awaits patiently,
Encouraging good qualities in me.
But today won't be that way;Yesterday took me down,
Not really, but it will not be the tomorrow that I plan.
I have read that broken dreams
Don't necessarily have an end;
They sometimes come in the form of doors
To something greater than what we had in our plans.
Life changes the way sometimes,
So we can find another way.
I will be raised from the dead,
I'll pick up my broken-down hope,
I will walk beyond the pain,
And do not let despair dwell within me!
If the dream has come to an end,
However, the one who dreams remains.
Following the same pattern as earlier, and as long as there is breath in me,
It's never too late to start over.
In addition to the shattered dreams,
I will discover my courage.
Beyond the tears,
I shall be strong.
And beyond yesterday,
I will be what I am supposed to be.
