THE YES THAT COST ME NOTHING, BUT GAVE ME EVERYTHING
I almost said no.
Almost scrolled past.
Almost told myself,
“I’m too tired.
I’m too busy.
It’s not worth it.”
But something in me whispered,
“Say yes.”
Not because it was convenient.
Not because it was paid.
Not because it was easy.
But because obedience
has never led me wrong.
So I said yes.
To the dusty room.
To the long bus ride.
To the people who didn’t clap yet.
To the work no one would post.
I said yes
when there was no money.
When there was no title.
When there was no guarantee.
I said yes with empty hands
and a full heart.
And in that yes,
God started moving.
He moved in the girl
who thought no one saw her.
He moved in the classroom
that smelled like chalk and hope.
He moved in me,
teaching me that impact
doesn’t wait for perfect conditions.
I used to think blessing
only came in big packages.
With contracts.
With applause.
With announcement posts.
But God showed me
that sometimes blessing
comes in a text at midnight.
In a request with no budget.
In a “can you help?”
that costs you time instead of money.
Because when you give what you have,
God gives what you don’t have yet.
When you pour out,
He fills you back.
When you serve in secret,
He rewards you in public.
That yes didn’t pay my bills that month.
But it paid my future.
